Is this unusual?

Was looking at one of the first swords I was ever given in UO and being the noob I am after all these years just wondered if it was rare or even worth anything?

Ihave had it maybe 5 or 6 years or more and never really used it much.

Any thoughts?

Re: Is this unusual?

well its got nice DI and good physical damage.I would of thought it would be a very decent weapon for a fairly new player.

I am not sure of the rarity factor though

Re: Is this unusual?

Hmmmm, it might be right around the beginnign of AoS. I think the original crafting bonus for Exceptional was 25%. had to have been runic crafted tho....

Re: Is this unusual?

From what it looks like, it is a sword that was made pre-aos with a lower mid level runic hammer.

If I remember right, whatever runic hammer was used, added the lowest possible damage bonus (15%) which was modified by an additional +10% at the time of the AoS change. The HCI was first included on weapons of increments of 2% ending at 10%, so that was lower as well.

My best guess is that weapon is a pre-aos exceptional runic made weapon.

The first exceptional damage bonus after AoS was 20% I think, because I have about a dozen of those weapons hanging around.

I wish I could estimate a value, but I have never seen any of those sold at anytime.

Cheers.

Re: Is this unusual?

Well im too picky and that stuff I say "rolling my eyes" wish it was better way better

most weopens look for this and only this:

if any item mostly look for this

1st harm unless it is a archery type

2nd lighting or fireball

magic arrow is worthless I think

the spells if over 40% is keeper untill you see this

Hit mana leech this is ok but not really you want

hit lower def needs to be 40% then hit lower attack and so on if archery then nice to have velosity

if it has hit chance or def nice

but speed if not archery then 25%+ if archery 35%+

Then if can get Di 35%+

Re: Is this unusual?

For me its great to hold onto such items especially if they have some history attached to them.

I keep a old style silver vanquishing broadsword stored away which our old GM Prince Orlando used to use for all our guilds knighting ceremonies

Its the memories that have far more worth than any actual intrinsic value.
