Re: Let's use UOForums Chessy Calendar, shall we?

UO Forums Chesapeake Calendar is our MAIN Calendar for PaxLair Community. Freely post any event, even if small, so we know where we should try to go ... even for a hang-out evening location.

I suggest:
  • Use the "Ranged Event" option for one-day events, from like 9-10 PM ET.
  • Post at least one day in advance if possible. If not, post by around 6 PM ET so people can see your event when they "get home" and read the calendar for new events.
  • Set the time as accurately as possible (pay attention to your time zone in your profile).
  • In the text of the Calendar event, simply answer 6 questions:
    • Who (is the event for),
    • What (is the event),
    • When (date and time -- VERY IMPORTANT to include in the body of the calendar item in case the server time zones don't display properly for people),
    • Where (do we meet up),
    • Why (is it a challenge, quest, adventure, hang-out)
    • How (people need to prepare, equip?)
  • If you don't have time to write up a complete calendar entry, at least make a "placeholder" for the event on the day/time you want it. Just put in basic information: "What, When". THEN come back and edit that calendar entry when you have more time.
There's basically no reason why we can't fill up the UO Forums Chesapeake Calendar with both large and small events, even if the event is impromptu or spur-of-the-moment. One nice thing is the events are documented so we can roll-back the calendar and see/remember what we were doing at different dates.
