ATTENTION People of the Empire!

Some time ago Caesar Maxiumus Maddux, out of godly generosity, donated 100 gp for prize money in the arena contest. This contest did not happen (probably due to the legions being otherwise occupied with war), so this prize money is still up for grabs! Surely someone wants this gold! Let's devise a means for distributing this wealth to some fortunate citizen!


(ooc: so we have money laying around to be awarded. Anyone have a cool suggestion for a contest or event? Please note your suggestions here. Besides we need to have a guild get-together some time. Leveling is well and good--yes, keep on leveling!--but a fun break is good too. So..let's do something fun and get this money into the hands of some deserving guildmember. What do you all think?)

How about a little scanvanger hunt?
All gray items that can only be gotten from creatures, this way no ones buys the stuff off the AH.
Have it in a safe area such as the barrens.
Have them collect like Raptor calws, a zhevera hoof, stuff like that?
this way all levels can participate with equal change of success.
No mounts of any sort allowed.

Oh and another 2cents.
100g is alot of gold for lower level players.
Maybe a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Still alot of gold for each person and you get three winners instead of 1 so more people are happy.

I like the idea Glamorous had with the scavenger hunt......and also the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes....

Man I miss the days when having 100g was like being rich

Now I spend easily 600-700g a week depending on what we are raiding.

The plus side of WoW vs UO is that as the amount of money thats in the system increases so do the prices of consumables.

Then you have things like repairs, consumables that are only buyable from vendors, realearning talents, and many other things that constantly drain $$$ from the economy making it very hard to inflate.

Why do you spend so much money raiding? when you go PvP do you lose your items when you diet etc?

Need at leat 40 super mana pots
8 stacks of +40 spell damage potions for my wep
40 potions of +spell damage
40 potions of MP5 potions
8 stacks of +spelldamage and crit food
Wiping for 4 hours straight = at least 80 gold repair.

What about dueling? Have lvl brackets, and let them duel for top in the bracket. Then each bracket winner can get some gold as a prize. If someone from a lower bracket defeats the winner of a higher bracket, they can get that prize too, if they want to try.
