Bowyer/Fletcher

Since stratics can't/won't give fletchers their own thread, decided to start one here. This is the skill chart I used to GM my fletcher. It uses darts to save boards.

Bows up to 49.9
Fukiya darts 50 ~ 67.9 (this saves about 8k boards)
Crossbows 68~77.9
Composite bows 77.9~87.9
Heavy X-bows 88~97.9
Repeating X-Bow 98~100

When I trained my fletcher, I did it in heartwood. Turned some of them in, I can't remember which ones they give as quests. It just takes a long time because of having to mark each quest item.

And then the ones that are not in the quest. I sell, so I get some money back.

Stratics has the Fletcher forum I believe. I have permission to cross post a skill guide, and i'll use yours too Paul.

If you have any skill guides or useful info that could go in a FAQ let me know and well put one together and sticky it

Wouldnt it be nice if you could make arrows and bolts out of the new wood and have some of the same properties? I always wondered why we couldnt poison arrows as well.

This is one skill i have never had and i have been considering training it for some time now. But i am lazy lol.

Howe long does it take to get to gm....i have loads of bows to try to enhance and i mean loads . . lol

It all depends on how you want to train. Some of us went down and did the Elf bowyer quest to get recipeis while training. Some folks just stand a Luna bank and make their items then sell to bowyer. On average though I think it takes about 20-30 hours to complete and 70-100k boards.

I did it in 20 hours, using 100k boards. I was doing an experiment with talismans, so it ook me longer.

DO NOT use a talisman. If you do, use it only to make darts earlier, and save boards, but do NOT use it after 67.9 skill. This works similiar to the jewelry tricks for training.

If you do it this way, you will take about 17~20 hours, 60~75K boards.

nice thing is to have 10(or more) summon boards talismans, or summon any other things. than just log on, and here you go 500 logs each time u use it

I have gm'd on two seperate accounts now and I did not track how long or how many boards i used...only thing i can tell ya for sure is that it is extremely BORING..hehe

Goes extremely quick up until 90ish then its very slow and boring from there
