I looked around for information on this, but couldn't seem to find any. If you fail to craft an item that uses rare materials, is it possible to lose some of those rare materials?

In my case I'm looking to make a pendant of the magi (Eye of travesty and 5 white pearls). I've managed to acquire the materials needed and will have tinkering GMed soon (hopefully). I got ahold of a +22% talisman, but that still leaves room for a 28% chance to fail. So just wanted to find this out before I attempt to craft it without a higher talisman or a few rabbits feet hanging from my neck

Not sure where this was answered so I can't give you a link. What I do remember is you will not lose rare ingrediants (the eye not sure about the pearls)

yanno, Great question. One I never considered (course, you have to HAVE the materials to consider it).

I can confirm with the peerless loot ingredient. You won't lose them when you fail.

Never crafted with the white pearls though, so I can't answer that one.

Well it's good to know that I don't have to worry about the eye at least. I'll probably try crafting a few on the test server without a talisman to check for the pearls (dunno why I'm just now thinking of this). I'll post my results for anyone else that is wondering.

Ok good, after 20 or so fails didn't lose a single pearl. That's a load off my mind.
