Features: 2D vs. KR

I'm makin a list, checkin in twice, and y'all collectively play approximately a hundred thousand times more than me, so I figured I'd ask for y'all's input.

What features are there in the 2D client that AREN'T in KR? (Stuff that's in UOA or Automap but not KR is good too, but please label it clearly)

Off the top of my head:

- the board games
- the UOA sell agent, smelt agent, and vendor management stuff
- Customizable waypoints (UOAM) (and this will be in the next patch, but don't worry about that for the purposes of this thread)
- scroll wheel targeting

Comments about performance or hardware compatibility are not what I'm looking for in this thread, please - just actual gameplay features. Thanks!

In 2D but not in KR:

- UOA Recycle and Organizer Agent (hope that doesn't fall into the vendor/smelt category, if it does then its a little nudge nudge ... wink wink)
- The ability to see roof top designs on homes
- The ability to decorate backpacks (the one frame backpack in KR bounces everything to the bottom of the frame
- The ability to layer items in containers (again in the one frame view items will not stay on top of each other .. they bounce off
- Being able to change clothing on vendors is not possible in KR

Thats off the top of the ol' braincell .. will be more aware of what and how things are different when playing in both clients.

Hope this helps.

-Items within a container need to highlight when moused over.

-Dragging stacks: holding down shift to separate a stack is rubbish and needs to be changed to 2D's version of separating stacks. In other words, when a stack is dragged, a separation gump automatically appears with the default value set to the max. This is a brilliant and efficient way to do it.

But, if you guys are just so insistent on this silly "shift" business, then alter it so that when the separation gump pops up, the default value is set to null or nothing, OR the value is automatically highlighted, so that a player can immediately start typing the desired value and press "enter" to verify the value.

-Speech text above our heads is badly in need of fixing. Right now the font is unchangeable in both color and face, and when this text intersects with another player's text, the result is unreadable:

On the same note, there needs to be a revamp of the "log" system in KR, specifically, the fact that system messages only appear in the system message log as oppose to in the corner of the game window like 2D.

There is no journal feature, requiring me to constantly have the Chat log open, but often the text disappears, and it automatically scrolls to the bottom when something new is said, making it near impossible to use. So ultimately my suggestion is, allow an option to show system messages "classically" (in the bottom left of the game window), and give me some sort of journal/chat log whatever that works like the journal in 2D. I really miss that journal.

Oh yeah, and make it so I can open a character's paperdoll by double dlicking their text, and add some better fonts (like the only cool font there is in 2D) and let us change the color of our text.


-Skill list: The skill list is simply not customizable enough. Let us add tabs, rename tabs, and remove tabs, please.

I havent played 2d for years but I used to love the coffin when you clicked on something dead. Also the sound of the backpack opening is missing in KR. Cant think of anything else at the moment...its almost midnight zzzzz

Things in 2D & UOA that aren't in KR?

I'd like all of 2D & UOA's features to be a built in part of KR.

I use arm/disarm for multiple weapons a lot; not just the "equip last" as the present 2D has.

Pickup Agent is good (for picking up regs & bolts/arrows)

Idealistically; I'd like an offer or one time attempt for the "company" to contact Tugsoft and offer to see if he'll help add all those things to the KR client.

I'd also like to see all the 2D type containers and styling put in for KR, as in a single "old style" type of toggle.

Been playing a LONG time 98-99 time frame, and not wanting to learn a new game, so very very comfortable with the 2D play style. The learning curve for KR is enormous with all the "new" things.

1)UOA's ability to load char stats, resources,etc. at the top
2) UOAM's ability to see guildmates in map

Along with Mum's other map suggestions.

Item Clarity. In 2d everything is nice and crisp (if old looking), in KR everything is blurry!

Not to derail the thread in anyways, but perhaps you are just to used to the old models.
I have little to no problem and if anything an actual easier time picking items out in the KR client.
I would just like the obvious fixs that every pvper wants.
Middle mouse button to work same as it did with UOA
Map Markers
Shared Map
and make me look like even more of a badass.
