It's the axe that makes it all work. I don't know about you, but I've been looking for a set of 140 luck / super slayer of any type of weapon since AoS came out. And to this day, I have zero of them. I was using a Horselord with my archer/tamer, but there's only so much you can kill with 2 slayer types.

Question: What monsters have the top tier of loot drops?

The axe even has fire resist to help with vamp.

Hmmm, probably goes something like:

Peerless bosses
Spawn Champs (especially if you count the gold drop)
ML Minibosses (Swoop, Miasma, etc.)
Doom Bosses (according to what Ive heard, the loot is pretty craptacular down there)
followed by the top tier Legacy mobs, Ancient Wyrn and Balron.

Under that you can probably just go by Fame Level for the most part...

The best loot for a while was off of Vorpral Bunnies but I'm sure that's been nerfed like no one's business. Off hand I'd have to say the new ML critters have the best I've seen thus far, it's more or less dependent on perserverance to which mob you want to kill. Kill enough of them and you'll find what you are looking for ^_~

Just out of curiosity, how do you cast vampiric embrace w/ only 24 Necromancy? I've got almost this exact setup ready to go and I've been trying to figure out how to cast VE.. I've got necro on my mage at 120, but unless I drop the skill or buy a 120 scroll so I can soulstone it over, I'm screwed :/

Necro talisman (+5)
Ossian grimoir (+10)
Midnight bracers (+20)
Ring & Brace (+30)
Optional: Mark of travesty, necro (+10)

Total, 75 skill pts. +24 real, can cast vamp embrace.

Now, MOST people cannot afford all this, so they go with 34(w/o mark)-64(W/o mark & bracers).

Yeah I was thinking about how to do it at work today when I remembered all the things that give a + to necro... All I need to do that is the grimoir and bracers..

Also, anyone have any advice on how best to play this template? I've been stewing on a necro/parry/sammy for a couple weeks now, and this setup is real close to what I have for myself.. But, I've almost exclusively played mages before this so I'm not real familiar with dexxers.. Thanks for any advice in advance

Weapon:
mana leech, lowest swing rate, high DI, high HLD, High HLA, hit effect preferred.

Spells & Effects for damage
Use EOO when you can.
Consecrate always.
Spam lightning strike for the HCI and added damage bonus.
Cast curse weapon when you are in trouble.
Honor EVERYTHING (perfection bonus will help you leech more life, AND kill faster)

Healing:
Spirit speak when below 75%
Heal with bandie when below 80%
Use close wounds at 50%
Cure with bandie as soon as hit (you can heal through poison with life leech, but what if you miss for a while?)
At 65%, use cleanse by fire

Items:
Carry trapped pouch / crate
Enchanted apple, but I am not sure if it removes vamp form

Suit
should focus on DCI, LMC, Dex increase, DI. Possibly LRC if you can fit it (for curse wep). At LEAST all 60's resists.
Recommend shooting for at least 140 dex, 150 stamina.

have a macro for attack / honor. This will save time selecting targets.
There is a HUGE variety in how to do this, including the old fashioned double click.
1) targetting reticule on
2) in game macro
Macro 1
Left window ------Right window
select target -----Nearest mobile
invoke virtue------honor
wait for target
last target

macro 2
attack------last target
