Best PVM skills?

Ive been out of UO for 2 years now. I used to have a tamer/mage who would farm WW's and Dragons for hours on end.

I no loner have an account and will have to start fresh.
What is the best PVM build for farming "phat lewts", is it still the classic tamer/mage or Provoker/mage combo?

I was thinking of doing something new and making a melee class. How do they do against the harder monster?

Dicord Tamer is probably the best bet. They take alot of time to get to high level but once you do, you are nigh unstoppable.

110 Taming/Lore/Vet/Magery and 120 Music/Discord is a great goal to start and fairly cheap as far as scrolls and equipment. Youll want to end up with as high resists with 100 LRC but for the most part, you wont have to worry about resists until you start getting into tougher situations...

If you are coming back from scratch, Id start with a Samurai Paladin. They are much quicker to train and do very, very well against the hgher end mobs.

110/115 Swords/Bushido/Parry
100 Tactics/Anatomy/Healing
the rest in Chivalry

Look for armor with good resists and Mana Regeneration. Weapons with Stam/Mana/Life Leech are a nice addition too. Ornate Axes seem to be the flavor of choice with this template atm...

Thanks for the advice, I think I will try that melee build and see how it fits me. I had a Tamer/Mage back when I used to play, I just dont see myself taming bulls for 3 hours a day ever again haha.

a paladin warrior is also a quikck way to go and also do very well

Are provo/magery templates any good still? It's taking me forever to raise Provocation and I hope it's worth it in the end, hehe.

Provocation is one of the better skills for doom. Allows you to put all the DF's spawn to work for you.

I use to love doom not a big fan at all rarther do peerless ...doom is something i thing thats over rated but your right provo rules at doom
