Had a talk with Faeryl today and told her about the kidnapping of Anita and that I suspect her followers of it. As expected she denied anything, but at least agreed to have a closer look at it.

Iljian questioned the woman called Delta, but when Meygan looked at her she nay recognised her and we had to let her go.

Britanian guards made a patrol to Skara to help them against Magincia but found all quiet.
Devante and Tammy started some quarrel and a fight started and some people got hurt, but that is nay thing unusual.

Sent two guards to Vesper to listen for any rumours, but them nay found out anything and just spent my gold on ale.

Today was the big Magincia festival and the town was quiet and most people were headed to celebrate at Magincia.
As I was nay sure that we would be welcome I advised all guard that went there to wear civilian clothes and listen in and try to find out how Magincian relations were.

Iljian and me changed and headed for Magincia where lots of people had gathered and enjoyed the festival. Saw lots of Kaldorians Vesperians and even some people from Skara wandering from booth to booth and chatting.

Gwen and Stewan served food and drinks at a small stall outside the house where also some tables and benches had been provided.

Inside the house there were other small stalls selling clothing and I saw one person even do fortune reading though it seemed more like guessing and making up than any real reading of the future.

I was questioned about my name and as I was nay sure that we were allowed told them a false name and mingled with the crowd. Saw Shunsaki and Carn there, both wanted by the Duchy and I had to stay clear from them as to nay attract troubles.

Sir Ikus visited too and talked a little with the Vesperians before he indulged himself to some drinks and I decided that it would be better to leave.

Trinsic was quiet this evening and nay thing further to report.

Lots of guards today on duty and I managed to work up some of the paperwork which had assembled itself on my table.

I did a patrol to the moongate then and found all quiet and enjoyed the nice day as I knew the town would be safe and walked a bit along the beach.

When I returned Victor told me the news that he would resign as Guard and the Duchy and join Kaldor.

Some Vesperians attacked and we managed to capture two and Sir Ikus sentenced them to stocks and we put them there.

Some hooded persons attacked and in the confusion the Vesperians managed to escape and also the assassins.

Iljian proposed that Liana takes charge of the tracker division and that ljian and Liana share the office besides the bank together.
They also intend to hold special trainings instead of the normal ones and I agreed.

Lady Reann intends to talk with Shunsaki tomorrow and talked today with Lady Vierna in Moonglow.

Talked with Anita today at the start of my duty and she says that two male drow and one female drow were the ones kidnapping her. The males used poisonous weapons and the female drow used magik.
She though suspects that two drow houses worked together as several different drow rituals were used.

A Covian woman I think her name is Flina came to the gate accusing me to have hurt her horse and threatened me to never come to Cove. I have nay idea what happened to her horse, but I will avoid Cove for sure until it is settled.

His Grace and some other citizen decided to visit the Spiritwood tavern and enjoy the small events there and I decided to walk to the tavern. We were a little too late though for the event, which was a scavenger hunt and enjoyed so a few drinks before we returned back to Trinsic.

His Grace allowed the strange creatures called Silithid to stay in town as long as they follow our laws, as they look for a safe place where they are nay hunted.
They are allowed in town, but keep an close eye on them and their doings please.

Talked to a messenger from Vierna and told her that Vierna has chances to return to town and told her the descriptions of the three attackers on Anita.

Yesterday was quiet and uneventful and nothing worthy to be mentioned in the report happened during my shift.

A messenger from lady Faeryl came and reported that from her family nay males are on the surface that could have kidnapped Anita

Got informed that a man who seems about 50 with blonde hair and wearing shiny black armor and a black staff has connections to some criminals in town.
The guards that see that man are asked to keep an eye on him and note with whom he talks and contacts.

I sent Kimi and Brynhild to the tourney in Vesper to gather informations and rumours, but they returned with only the name of Emerald as the victor of the tourney and said that nay rumours were heard.

A new tavern opened just outside the west gate and some visitors too advantage of it among them Orson on duty.
I took a quick look at it and found it nice enough and the staff friendly.

Two Covians made a bit of trouble, one woman for refusing to leave the jail and her lover later insisted to share her cell. We leave them overnight in the cell and will throw them out tomorrow.

Bannishment

Until the criminals that attacked the former Duchy guard Anita are found out, all Drow not in the service of the Duchy are banished from the town of Trinsic.

We only know that two male drow using poisoned weapons and one female drow using magik were involved in the crime.

If you have any further informations about the crime please contact the Duchy guards and tell them.

Dear Lady Vierna,

I have decided that until we have found out who attacked and kidnapped Anita, that all drow keep banned from the town of Trinsic.

First patrol was quiet and uneventful in town, at the Rose and moongate and upon returning I met Adammair and Alraune in the tavern.
Adammair has been biten by some some snake and although a healer looked at it he fears that some of the poison is still there and so asked for Iljian or another healer that may know anything on duty.
I got a letter in drow and Anita translated it to me. It says that she caught the three drow that kidnapped Anita and punished them and that we nay will see them on the surface again.
As this matter is settled, I decided to lift the ban on the drow and they are allowed to enter again.

I had a visit from Vierna’s messenger later on who confirmed what Anita had told me and also assured me that Vierna had her part of Drow well under control.

Kaldor decided to try and enter the town and I considered letting them into the town to avoid a fight, but the other guards reminded me about my duties
and refused to let them in.
Duo and lady Soulshadow insisted though and a fight started where I was knocked out pretty quickly and regained consciousness at the healers.


I heard that some Kaldorians had managed to reach the tavern and some ale was missing, but nay got any confirmations.

Someone though managed to arrest Lady Soulshadow and as we knew that if we kept her in town Kaldor would attack again I asked Iljian to bring her out of town. We took her armor and put it into the armoury and I asked Iljian to bring her to a small island.

After a short sailing tour we arrived there and leaving her water and bread we left her on the island and promised to check on her tomorrow.


Town was peaceful upon returning and except an orc that attacked Tammy when she was in the woods all was quiet.

Victor came to the gates telling that a dripping wet Cal had sent him asking for her armour, but as we are at war I see nay reason to return it at the moment.

Kaelyn ordered me to Vesper to report on the tournament there and see if any useful information could be picked up. Kimi and Anita decided to come too. Anita went on her own. While Kimi and I were walking to the moongate we found a dead blue thing which looked like the one that was hanging round outside the jail for ages. (Sketch 1) The corpse was decaying fast and there was no way to get any information about what happened to it or how it got there or even if it was the same one. So we left it there and carried on.

When we got to Vesper the tournament was already well under way. No-one seemed to be saying anything interesting apart from the usual Vesperian brutality. (Sketch 2) There was quite a lot more of that sort of talk. (Sketch 3)

Once the final was set up with 4 people to fight, we stood and watched it. Anita didn’t do much watching, she was busy talking to Van Cocidius, who hangs round Trinsic quite a lot. They seemed to be getting on well and she probably has a better chance of getting information than we did. (Sketch 4)

They fought for ages, but finally the winner was Emerald D’Souza of the Britannian Guards. Second place was another Britannian Guard called Erik. The Kaldorian in third place is Victor who used to be Sergeant here. (Sketch 5)

Anita was still talking to Van and they went for a drink in the Swaggers while Kimi and I came back to Trinsic.

Duty today was overall quiet and I enjoyed a nice time when Gwen served people in front of the west gate with refreshments.

Kelirahe an unknown drow came into town and we talked a bit. He seems quite sure of himself and he might be dangerous, but he has a valid permit.

Iljian and Liana went to Britain to learn more about healing and returned late reporting that they both learnt lots about poisons and illnesses.
Liana had managed to lose her purse and asked for extra duties to earn some gold and I agreed that she could do some extra nightshifts and that I would pay next week.

Got a bunch of flowers with a tag that reads:

‘To the long suffering Captain Kaelyn…

Thank you for allowing me to stay on your lovely holiday island. I think the sea air did me some good and the water was pleasantly bracing.
Perhaps I can return the favour in the not so distant future.

Lady Kimi and Sir Ikus were in Vesper for peace talks, but it nay seems that they got any results and I bet it was mostly Ikus talking, who loves to hear the sound of his own voice.

Taryn started a fight with the Drow Kelirahe and hit him even after I warned her that I would fine her and put her on stocks.
As I had nay other option I put her on stocks and Tammy paid her fine and after her time on stocks I let her go.

Town was peaceful when I got on duty and guarding the gate was more like relaxing and chatting to the locals.
Anita came to the gate limping, reporting that magincian soldiers had attacked Skara Brae but were beaten back.

She nay was hurt badly and after a short visit at the healers talked to me that the drow were concerned about their bad treatment in town.
Told her that nay changes of the law would be made and that the Drow would have to live with the rules.

Iljian reported later on that Liana had been attacked by two drow and a woman in the woods when she asked for the Drow’s permits.
I have nay idea if them were drow or why them would attack Liana and will need more information for it before I know how to react.

Talked with Gwen today about her application as guard and we agreed that she could be a guard in the rank of a recruit and wear Duchy armor and colours.
She nay is to be ordered around too much and can follow her own duty times.

Envoys from Skara came and talked to his Grace about help against Magincia which tries to take over their territory. His Grace agreed to help them and I agreed that when we send patrols to then moongate we will also check Skara Brae and that if we are called we will assist Skara Brae in the defence of their town.

I promoted Rani today to armswoman and sent her to patrol around town.
Gwen reported that she and Rani had been attacked near the first bridge by some Kaldorians, but managed to escape.

I gathered some guards and marksmen and we headed south to the moongate, but nay found any sign of Kaldor.

One of the Marksmen got lost south near Strongholt and got attacked by Kaldorians and fled back to town. He got chased though by Kaldor who wanted to arrest them in town and so a fight broke out and we arrested Lady Soulshadow and let the other Kaldorians go.

Sir Isidore talked to the Kaldorian Commander and seemingly got to an agreement and we let her go and I hope we can agree to a more permanent peace soon.

Rest of my duty was uneventful and I hope it stays so for some time.

Town was quiet and peaceful and so I instructed a paladin to guard the gate and headed to the Rose for a drink and to listen to some of the poems.
Gwen and some visitors recited some lovely poems and even the Duke was moved from his wine glass and listened

Anita headed off to patrol around and then to Skara Brae as she needed to find a teacher there for her tasks.
She returned a little later on reporting that some Magincians had been near Skara and warned her off to visit there.
A little later five men dressed in Magincian colours came to the gate claiming someone had attacked Skara and so me and Anita went to Skara and patrolled the town and the outlying buildings, but found all in order and returned to Trinsic.

The town was still quiet and peaceful and Anita and Lady Reann later did another patrol to Skara Brae and then even to Magincia where they upset the locals a little, but managed to leave without a fight.

Lady Reann informed me that the ban of Lady Vierna is lifted and she can enter the town of Trinsic again.

Some crazy magician who says his name is Jim Slooth was around own today and I think he used dark magik, making him look like something dead and nay living. He bewitched Zefar or something as the boy behaved strangely and had red glowing eyes when talking to him.
I ordered Jim to stay away from Zefar and if anyone sees him too close he should be thrown out of town.

I had just got on duty and was walking from Barrier Isle when I saw two masked figures with a young human woman. The woman had long dark hair, a short skirt and less than modest armour that didnt look like it could do much against even a wet fish to protect her exposed skin…

Anyway…

She seemed scared and the masked figures looked as if they were harassing her, I drew my weapon and asked the girl if she was alright and what was going on… to which she replied she was fine and the two masked figured took it upon themselves to tell me to go away and mind my own business.

A few Drow words were splattered about their speech and so I asked to see their permits; one didnt seem to know what I was talking about and the other told me to go away again. I demanded to see them again saying they would be under arrest if they didnt show me… so they pulled their weapons (if they werent out already, I dont recall).

A fight broke out and the young woman joined in (I love my job SO much) … I tried to make my way to West Gate, hoping for assistance but I was soon taken down by arrows and metal (perhaps a broad sword? Something pretty heavy. Damn hurt).

I regained consciousness only to find one of them wielding a big wooden club which was quickly swung down on my head, unluckily for me it took two blows to knock me out again.

The next I recall, I was drenched and coughing as water was thrown over me. I didnt see anything as I was blindfolded by that point. I heard words spoken in Drow from what could have been three people, Im not sure - it could have been two. Drow all sound the same to me. Although I can say, one was definitely a male and perhaps the other two (if there were two) were female.

I got beaten up pretty badly amongst laughing and shouted words in Drow. The only thing I remember them saying in Common was Heres my Permit, little guard … before I lost consciousness again.

I was hit quite a while and kicked and stamped on, slipping into unconsciousness for a lot of it I am happy to say.

The next I knew I was awake and untied (did I mention I was tied up? Well … I was!). I lifted my blindfold and found myself by Trinsic moongate, up on the embankment.

I made my way to the gate, and thats it really.

Today was the festival and Quinn April, Stewan, Isidore and a few others were busy preparing the town and making it festive.
Because of the festival a truce had been called out to various parties and we out some extra paladins to duty watching that nay fights break out and everything remained peaceful.

Tables and stools were placed throughout the park and Stewan prepared his famous dishes and handed out drinks.
I intended to do a drawing contest, but with the festive guests and the fun they had I decided to do a few sketches and show them around for entertainment.

After people introduced themselves and had the chance to eat and drink Lord Isidore called out something he called Caledonian conest.
Basically you grab a very heavy log, balance it and then you throw it away from you and the one that throws it furthest wins.
Many people tried their luck with this one and the contest too quite a long time and sadly I missed who won it and I will report the winner tomorrow.

People returned then to the refreshments and the festival continued for a bit until more and more people left for home and the town grew quieter.

For the Attention of Captain Kaelyn
Subject: The Scara Brae Market


Today was the Scara Brae Market, and as part of my overtime I went along with Armswoman… *a few attempts of remembering are scribbled out* … an Armswoman to oversee it and make sure no fights broke out and there was no stealing and the likes.

There was dog fighting (is that legal?) which could be bet on and later on mongbat vs. dog fighting; I tried to persuade the Armswoman to put her little vicious poodle thing in, but she didn’t seem to think they would believe it was a dog… oh well, would have been some easy winnings.

There were lots of things for sale, all too expensive for me unfortunately (have I mentioned recently that a pay rise would be a nice idea? Just consider it…). They included: armour, fish, weapons, wood items such as staffs and furniture and the likes.

There were quite a few people present and all round it was a good turn out, the weather was nice and there was very little trouble.

The only trouble we had was some Eastern man being difficult when asked to remove his gigantic bow; and thinking it was alright to just remove the string and stroll into town … the Armswoman and I followed after him, but as the Armswoman was too busy chatting to some pirate looking man, he got ahead and then we couldn’t find him. He probably got in a huff and strolled out of South Gate, or heard what we intended to do with the stick… and so ran off to hide; either way, he didn’t come back at least from what I saw.

I stayed for a while to watch, spoke to Stewan about some things and as there seemed to be no trouble and things quietened down a bit, I left the rest of the afternoon in the capable hands of the Armswoman and her poodle.

All in all it was a good, enjoyable, peaceful afternoon.

In the second row you can see a knight in armor who despite that most of the others are asleep still seems to follow the lecture. He has long hair and a beard and resembles closely to Sir Bevier*

When I got to town I was informed that some Kaldorians had attacked and wandered through town and later on one Kaldorian sneaked around town until we beat her up.

Sir Ikus visited town and asked for his Grace, but left pretty quickly bored by the daily duties.

Kimi asked to be accepted the same as Gwen as assistant guard and after arguing for some time I gave in and accepted and she is an assisting guard with the rank of a recruit.

Else nay thing to report and the town was quiet when my shift was over.
