Item Repair

How do I get my items repaired?

Repair Service Contracts
One of the cornerstones of Ultima Online is the activity of players sharing items with other players in order to obtain repairs for their armor and weapons. A supplement to these transactions exits in the form of “repair service contracts”.
They will be labeled as “a repair service contract from a [level] blacksmith,” where [level] is the skill level title of the smith who created the contract (i.e. apprentice, journeyman, expert, adept, master, or grandmaster, elder, or legendary as appropriate). The higher the skill of the repair deed's maker, the less chance of losing durability from your item.

Using a deed
In order to use a repair service contract, you must be standing in an NPC tailor, carpentry, fletcher or blacksmith / armorer shop. Then, just double-click the contract and target the item that you want to repair. The used repair service contract will disappear after use.
Repair contracts may be bought or traded. Check player vendors for them. They are not available from NPC vendors.

SOME ITEMS CAN ONLY BE REPAIRED BY DIRECT USE OF THE APPROPRIATE SKILL. Items such as deer masks, hats, tribal masks, etc (mainly tailor) cannot be repaired through a reapir deed, but can be repaired by a craftsman directly.

Creating a deed
Players can create repair service contracts by using the blacksmithing skill and by performing the following steps:
Use a smithing tool as normal (double-click it).
Choose the “Repair” option from the menu that appears.
Target a blank scroll. The scroll must be within the blacksmith’s backpack.
The repair service contract will appear in the creating character’s backpack.
These contracts will appear in the form of a deed. They are “blessed”, in that they cannot be stolen (if kept in the top level of your backpack), and cannot be looted.
Blacksmiths will not gain any skill by creating these contracts. And they cannot be sold on player vendors.

Code:
Skill Level Skill Success Fail
Apprentice Smith 51.5% 80%-90% 10%-20%
Journeyman Smith 61.5% 90%-93% 7%-10%
Expert Smith 71.5% 93%-96% 4%-7%
Adept Smith 81.5% 96%-98% 2%-4%
Master Smith 91.5% 98%-99% 1%-2%
Grandmaster Smith 100% 99% <1%

Do it yourself
Players may directly repair their items if they have a crafting ability, by selecting the Repair Item button on the Blacksmithing menu, and target the item in your pack or on the ground. Upon repairing the item, a message will appear on your Blacksmithing menu, saying: You repair the item. If the item does not require fixing, you will receive the following message: That item is in full repair.
