Paper Dolls and Hair

I have been playing the beta for a few weeks now and one thing that just screams wrong at me is our paper dolls and hair! The paper dolls characters look hunched over and in pain, and our hair on both the doll and the figure seems incomplete and wrong. When I create a female character and I chose long hair I expect to be able to tell it is long hair. Give us a bit of love?

They should introduce new hair and beards, like Brom said.

The running and riding animations bug me on so many levels as well… It looks like I am reaching way out at my sides to fist smack bugs while moving.

Yes, the paperdolls could use indeed some love.

After the "old" 2d client and the 1st 3d client paperdolls haven't look right to me anymore. And so they don't in KR.

Re: Paper Dolls and Hair

The Paperdoll, is a two sided debate with myself, on one hand, when you get generic items together (such as platemail) it looks fantastic, but if any of you have noticed the starting hair colors, are almost all the same color with this dark hue to it, while I know this will be fixed, the ugly faces most likely wont.

and now we can't see ponytails in the paperdoll... nice

Re: Paper Dolls and Hair

Thank you so much for starting this thread!! My number one irritation/complaint with KR right now is long hair! Add to that, Glacial Long Hair (on females at least).

Why would we WANT long hair only for it to be hiding BEHIND the shoulders?! Come on! And worse yet is my character's expensive glacial hair which I think looks horrid in her paperdoll because it lacks a sense of depth or texture. I think newbie characters with basic brown hair look better than my so-called 'uber' glacial hair...

Very disappointing!

I'd love to see some thickness to long hair and I'd like to see long hair go IN FRONT of the shoulders in the paperdoll! Hmph!

Oh, yeah, and I almost forgot....

I also think that most female characters look, dare I say it, FAT in the paperdoll!! Yuck! In roleplaying games, females are usually slim, seductive, and voluptuous. Currently in the KR paperdoll, they seem bloated and almost drunk in their hunched position. It's as though they're trying to get into a war stance, but are either to lazy or drunk to be taken seriously. Not to mention the fact that their noses are crooked and out of proportion to the eyes.... take a better look next time and you'll see what I mean.

Re: Paper Dolls and Hair

Returned to UO after 3-4 years, decided to try KR. Ergh, agree with other people here - paperdolls AND in-game char figures need a major re-done. They're worse then in 2d, somewhat square and...well, their animation is awful.

Re: Paper Dolls and Hair

I'm sure everybody was constipated in medieval times, right? I mean, how else would you explain the paperdoll stance?
