Re: Babble of the drunkards!

The governments present determination of what is a "binge" session is simply rediculous. Three pints for a binge? Yeah right. Three pints is *light drink with meal*.

Around Six is *night at pub*.
And around the equivelent of 10-12 is a "binge" session.

Re: Babble of the drunkards!

I could care less if people drink a lot and mind themselves while drunk. But when you go out on the streets screaming and shouting it just gets stupid imo. When I get drunk, like proper drunk, I hate the feeling of having no control.. BUT, when I do get drunk I usually crawl away to some secluded area like behind a bush or a car like some wounded animal going somewhere quiet to die. The last thing I wanna do is walk around and talk to people. Agree with Olk, 3 pints is not binge drinking, not by a longshot, but some people shouldn't be allowed to drink in the first place

Re: Babble of the drunkards!

Three pints is seriously the definition of binge drinking though? Your right to say thats not far beyond what you'd have with a meal or something in the evening. Either way my concern about this comes not from the fact that I'm pissed off by binge drinking, but that those assholes who wanted smoking banned have drinking in their sights when us nicotine-hounds have been extinguished. Its been on the news and whatnot (with the ban coming in now) that drinking is the "next target".

Help prolong the time we can smoke and you will prolong the time before having an alcoholic beverage becomes a social faux-pas.

Re: Babble of the drunkards!

Well the 3 pints thing might not be hugely accurate. I remember reading it somewhere and a quick glance on google seemed to support it. Apparently the definition is 8 units, which makes it 3 or 4 pints depending on the strength.

Still makes practically any trip I have to the pub these days a binge.

I doubt drinking can realistically be banned. The anti-drinking "lobby" is considerably weaker than the "anti-smoking" lobby. Hard to basically drive pubs out of business. As it is you already have licensing laws about alcohol consumption.
