Shard Selection
Your first decision will be which shard to select. There are several variables to be taken into account, such as time zone, play style preference (role play, enjoy the game, challenge), the displayed ping, geographich location (plays into ping and time zone), and server population. We suggest asking around for player impressions of server style in our
server forum.
Europa is the preemminent role play shard. It is located in (drum roll) Europe. Atlantic and Pacific are the most populous US shards. Origin is a production shard that enjoys first experience of all game changes, as a buffer. It is rather unpopulated. Siege Perilous and Mugen are special shards, with their own rule sets.
Ping is the speed of your connection to the server. It is affected by the number of switches between your computer and the server. The LOWER the number, the faster you will move in game. For some troubleshooting ,

Packet loss is the % of packets dropped. LOWER is better.
