Mage Build - Tough Choice

Hi, new here so first of I just wanna say, great site ;)

I'm planning to make a mage of some kind, but I can't decide exactly what and how. Basicly, what I'm choosing between is a nox mage and a mage with spellweaving.
I might as well end up doing both but, one will have to be done first so, I would like some ideas and also pros and cons with both of these builds.
So to the questions:

Spellweaver dude:

Magery 100-120?
Eval int 100 -120?
Meditation 100
Spellweaving 100-120?
Resist spells 100-120 ?
Wrestling 100 - 120 ?
7th skill and how much depending on how high I should set the already mentioned skills, please advice on this?
Would this be an ok build for a spellweaver? Also, what items would be good for him? The spellweaver will probably mainly be a PVM char but seeing as I also take wrestling etc he can perhaps duke it out in PVP as well

Nox dude:
Magery 100-120?
Eval int 100-120?
Meditation 100
Poisoning 100-120?
Resist spell 100-120
Empty Spot
Empty Spot

I really need some advice on the nox mage. He will probably end up being a mainly PVP charachter, so if any of you could advice on skills and gear, I would much appreciate it

Thanks in advance

Welcome to UO Forums Khan

Unless you want your spellweaver dude for PvP he isn't bad as is. Just go to 120 on all your skills. I'll let those who now more about PvP give you hints on your Nox mage.

Re: Mage Build - Tough Choice

If you want to pvp with a mage, I have found that replacing wrestling with a weapon skill offers better defense along with max dci . Peeps that use spellweaving in pvp usually cast attune weapon and arcane empowerment but the problem is that spellweaving has long cast delay's and is mana intensive.

I know nothing about nox mages

Hey Thanks Kingtony... ;)

Spellweaving dont seem very good for PVP as it is very mana hungry.

Re: Mage Build - Tough Choice

S/W is great for PvM though, and support at peerless. For your nox mage, use the same skills as the S/W, jsut substitute poisoning. Substitute wrestle for swords, and off ya go.

Re: Mage Build - Tough Choice

One of the toughest PVP chars in our guild is a nox mage pally. He doesn't use weps, and has spellweaving too. His magery is lower tho, so he has the 4/6 casting caps.

Re: Mage Build - Tough Choice

If you have above 80 Magery, you will only be able to use 2/6 Casting with Chiv.

Below 80 Magery and you can cast Chiv spells at 4/6 Casting.

Re: Mage Build - Tough Choice

So what is a 2/6 casting and a 4/6 casting? I dont get it? Are they time modifiers, damage, or what?
Sorry if I'm a bit annoying
