Despise bridge (Fel) changes again

taken from UO U.Hall

We recently had an extra tile width added and the ability to teleport and fire onto the ledge at the end, now you can target along it's entire length.

I think some people were looking for this but I can't see quite what difference it makes apart from making it easier for alter-cam zerg guilds to raid * shrugs *

Of course its too much to expect a change to be documented.

I suspect that one ended up under "World art fixes" on my list - I'll see what I can do to break that kind of change out a little better in the future.

Was thinking about this, it is an obvious correct change on the surface. - but this was the last place in game really where you could have a good "field-tactics" based battle and 5 or 6 could hold off the whole shard (fel side anyway) for a long time if done right, made for great fun (on Great Lakes).

Donno if it's for the better.

Guess the bigger idea would be to make more interesting fighting locations with reasons to fight over them (no reason better right now than a rat spawn with the altar blocked to all but only one entrance).

I cant believe people are complaing that they fixed the bridge to allow proper line of sight. Now those necro mages who just all stand on one tile and spam wither on the bridge are unable to prevent others from passing over. You can cast spells / fields to the middle of the bridge, you can teleport into the middle of the bridge.

This is a good change. Less wither spamming and more overall field fights (with the still exclusion of dexers , they cant teleport so fields on bridge will still hold em) Now it seems the way to hold despise is to prevent people from getting close to the bridge, instead of just everyone sitting on one square casting one spell.

It isn't skilled pvp to sit there and wither/spellweaving grind. Ever.

Kudos, this might actually make PvPing in that dungeon fun for me again.

Not pvp'd in a very very long time unfortunatley but it sounds very good to me because as you said theres no skill standing on 1 tile spamming. Huzzah? yes Huzzah!
