Going back to the thread title of "worst lost of a rare ever"... I'm not sure if they would be considered rares, however, back when I was in Pacific, just after Samuari Empire came out, Kellen and I were collecting the Tokuno Dyes.... I had a container in my house that had 2 of every one of those dyes in it...... After redesigning my house and moving things where I could see them, I must have forgotten to lock that one chest down cause when I logged back in after a couple of hours, *poof* all my dyes had decayed!!!

I have never fully recovered from that goof

i lost a blue tent deed, set it down to lock it down and it instantly vanished...yes my house is private, and nobody is friended, just went poof, watched a 60k diamond wedding band do the same thing when it was being locked down, alot of the older items seem to have a 0 second policy if you want to lock it down...be careful

The worst thing for me was "an open book" and various other minor rares. My account hacked and password changed, while I was on it. Friends list on the house wiped. Guildmates trying to kill my primary. Me screaming at EA reps on the phone. They threw my primary in jail (at my insistance)with a 72 hour lock on the acct. Worse than all that was watching my stuff E-bay, knowing it was mine and not being able to do a dang thing about it. I still want to shoot the guy who did it when I think about it.

Well one of my first times checking out fel i created a guinny pig character to run around fel and check it out as i was running aronndi was checking out champ spawn in dungeon when i came across a corpse i clicked corpse and found 2 120 powerscrolls i was like pay dirt i didnt even turn around and the next thing i knew i was 00o0oo0o0 no more scrolls.

Hehe, I lost a 200mil suit almost a month ago now? Was in fel on a new character, didn't have auto renew on, and boom. Lost an orny, armor of fortune, a nice 3/1 ring with 14 hci, two nice SC shields, 2 nice SC warforks, insane barbed armor leggings, , sleeves, gloves, etc. Some guy from VIP ended up looting it, and of course paraded around talking about how great he was, bla bla bla.

His buddy gave me the pendant back, but everything else was lost. Offered to buy it back, but the jackass refused saying he didn't need the gold. Guy just kept parading around yew gate talking smack etc. The guy is easily one of the most hated people on atlantic. Made a new suit in about a week, and turned the guy from ninja fencer mage, to ninja wrestle mage, hence the ninja punch, being my new thing lol.


Funny thing is... about a week or so later, the guy ends up getting his account perma banned for unattended macroing. Karma is a !!!!!, ain't it?

its not a "rare", but when i played on drachs....i was hidden in luna right next to one of the chests in the bank. a guy ran through and stoped, banked and i saw a bag go into one of the chests(you know how when people move things around their packs/bank, the item they are moving kinda "falls" from the sky). he runs upstairs to insta-log at the inn. i open up the chest, then the bag and saw a bunch of bank checks. welp it was around the time that the bank check bug was out(that you could make checks for 0 gold) and i just figured they were worthless.....im glad i checked them anyways, 100 mil in gold:eusa_dance:

Try this for one: I was in pk guild on napa for over 3 years from beta then had somone send me a icq thing. It was a trojen and then he hacked me.



I lost 56 house( 7 towers and 4 castles), 3 bless item deeds, 4 tent deeds, and more than anyone could imagine.

over 300+ million and much much more.

I would say at that time castles and such going for at times over 1000$ when added this all up lost total in stuff over 85,000 in rl $.

I left a chest full of rares sitting unsecured on floor while remoldeling, you know what happened. Made me sick to my stomach when I realized what I had done.

Well, this isn't exactly a 'lost' rare, but more of a case of mistaken assumption. I attended an EM event sometime about 2 years ago and half the shard(Great Lakes) fought some kind of crazy paragon lord Bone Wyrm in Destard. Well, when it was dead, I looted a pure white bone pile that functioned as a container and was labelled 'bone wyrm bones'. Well, I thought that was cool.. My brother and I were chatting after all was said and done, and we decided to check the corpse again after it went fully public. Well, I found two more 'bone wyrm bones' containers, and my brother found two as well, all of which were never looted by anyone. We figured since we got five between us, they must have been common.
So, after the event, I was interviewed by Stratics and gave one to the interviewer. Well, ends up there were only maybe 8-10 of those dropped in total.. lol! Needless to say, I was kickin myself in the butt for giving away a rare that ended up being worth 25 mil +/- not long after that..
