Re: Golem training guide

Just so you are aware, only completly old golems from a long time ago are 100% resistent to poison, new ones are 99% - Very hard to kill one with a poison weapon still!

If you can, get a Use Best Weapon Skill Dagger! very fast weapon so very fast training, and it does all combat skills - what more can you ask for?

If you read the section "The golem is taking damage, what did I do wrong" It states that pre-patch golems are only 100% posision resist and the newer ones are 99%. Just giving ya a heads up.

Re: Golem training guide

As a tip I'd stand near a stable, say in moonglow just outside the guard zone, stable your golem when its hits are low and it will be good as new. Also keep an eye on your weapon as they also take damage quite quickly. Either use alot of powder on it or get plenty of smithing repair deeds. Preferrably do both as when you repair it it'll lose repair points.

Re: Golem training guide

When I was using my golem the other day, I asked in guild chat if I could do Light. Strike on it since it only increases my chance of hitting, so I did. It didn't appear to take any damage, but then when I wanted to stable it and tabbed out and told it to stop it wouldn't, continued to clobber me not matter what I did and said it was falling apart so I had to release/kill it ;(

Re: Golem training guide

I would like to add again that you can use the Dryad allure spell (spellweaving) to control Arctic Ogre Lords and you can use them like a pre-patch Golem where they have 100% poison resist. Multiple people can train off the same Golem if you time everything right. It is Hit Spell not Hit Area (I believe) that you DONT want on your weapon. If you wanted to train skills lower, have a lower skilled Tinker make the golem and the wrestling will be lower. This is aspecially handy for Mules that want lumberjacking of a golem with a poison Axe but do not want the Swords or other weapon skill that would normally be needed. Lastly, Mage weapon Poison weapons will gain you in magery, just be more aware of what your adjusted skill is as you might want jewlery or a weaker golem to gain skill from it.

Also, good to note, If you are a warrior that wants to train healing while training your warrior skills, use a normal weapon (self repair helps) and just bandaid heal a dryad allure under the same directions you would with a golem.

Another note, Besides a tinkerer using the Repair menu with Bronze or Iron ingots to repair a golem, you can cast Gift of Renewal on a Golem to heal it as well.

Re: Golem training guide

Very useful addition for the under appreciated spell weaving.

Re: Golem training guide

Pardon my very "uneducated" question, but do you need to have tinker skill to build the golem? I have noticed many golem kits being sold on PC vendors, but was under the impression I would need to train a tinker first. Thanks!

Re: Golem training guide

To BUILD the golem, yes, you need tinker. The higher the tinker skill, the better the golem.
