We often see questions in game and on the boards about golem training. Posted here in one easy to read section, will be all the tips required, equipment needed, and skills that can be trained.

First, why the golem?
1) It is easily crafted
2) It is subject to pet attack rules in trammel
3) it is 100% immune to poison damage
4) Anyone can use it regardless of skill
5) all skills listed below can be trained to 120

*NOTE: This can also be done with an Artic Ogre Lord, providing you have access to a spell weaver with the Dryad Allure spell (85% skill required) who is willing to give up 3 control slots until you are done. The AOL cannot be transferred or stabled. Thank you Lady Destiny for this tip.

Where to get a golem?
For new players, buying one is your best option. Average shard prices are 5 to 10K.

What else do I need?
1) 100% poison damage weapon. These can be hard to obtain, and can cost up to 250k depending on the type of weapon. The cheapest are the slowest.

2) Armor is optional, HOWEVER.... Swing speed is based on stamina, as a component of dex. If you get as many armor pieces as you can with the most stamina you can, you will gain faster. Max stamina is +8 on armor.

3) About 80 skill in weapon.

4) Depending on skill, you might want skill jewelery to jump up the the minimum lvl required.

5) You need to be guilded. Otherwise, the golem won't attack you in town. You could also go to felluca, but that has dangers of it's own.

Where do I go?
Any town in game. Preferably near a stable. Stabling your golem will repair it. (Thank you Lady Destiny for this tip)
A town because outside a guard zone. This property is what allows you to gain skill and not take damage.

How do I get it to attack me?
1) say 'All guard me'. (Golem turns green)
2) say 'All guard me' again
3) Attack golem
4) QUICKLY say all stop. It is best to have these commands macro'ed.
5) Every 5 minutes or so, the golem will go blue on you. If so, use your "All guard me" command to turn it green again.

Can you pass a Golem between characters with no problem?
There is no limit on amount of transfers.

Can two people whack on a golem at the same time or only the owner?
If all attackers are guilded, yes they can all whack on the same golem and gain skill, except parry.

Troubleshooting:
I am taking damage, what did I do wrong?
You have to say all stop.

The golem is taking damage, what did I do wrong?
Does your weapon have hit area damage or hit spell on it? If yes, get another weapon

Is your weapon a full 100% poison? If no, get another weapon

What is the poison resist on your golem? (you can have a human (20 animal lore from JOT) or a tamer lore it for you) Pre-pub 37 golems have 100% poison. Post-patch golems have 99%, so do take damage over time. You can attempt to repair it with a tinker kit and ingots, but this uses needed resources.

Do you have a Mondain's Legend quiver on? These change your elemental damage. Take it off.

Yes, you can train to 120, but need at least 80 skill to start gaining.

You need to tell the golem all guard twice! This will make the golem green to you and prevents him from kicking the crap out of ya!
