I am horrid at roofing. I admit it. So does anyone have any advice, or maybe a site with a how -to guide on making a roof with the leafy tree looking tiles? I've seen people with multi-level roofs, and it gives it a tree house look. I just can't seem to figure it out myself! lol

Update: Sadly it seems she has taken it down. I`ll nag her.. err I mean, ask nicely if she can upload it someplace else, or I could host it myself. It`s a very good guide, and a must for people like me that get terribly confused when trying to use the roof tiles.

That would be most helpful :cheesy: I have toyed with roofing, but have not mastered it quite yet. Some tiles I've found are easier to figure out than others.... *shrug*

Yeah, I can use the dark grey/blackish tiles well enough. I was wanting to make a tree house looking thing tho. If it helps, the house is 18x18. I have seen people make different levels tho, and some are able to make little tree looking things in a courtyard too. I just can't figure that one out tho.

My tip would be to turn on tool-tips in your UO options. In the housing tool, if you have tool-tips enabled, when you hover your mouse over each roof tile it'll tell you which one it is - like, northwest intersection, or east or west, etc. That's what it finally took for me to figure out roofs!

I have that too. Did you see the home with the neato leaf roof in the spring deco contest? I would like something similar with the laers and such. I just can't do it@ lol

What my other half did when she designed all our houses was to go look at some of the ones already built and take a couple of screenshots of them. Then she had no real problems making a leaf roof.

I too,spend a lot of time travelling around different shards ,taking screenies of things that catch my eye for inspiration.

I am hopeless with rooves tho.

The buttons set the height of the tile.So where 1 is the lowest,to layer the tiles you would set the next one above it at 2 and so on .

Dont know if that helps,but all I can suggest,is you go in custom mode,and just play around till you get the look you want.It wont affect your current design,and you can even save your work, if you decide you have got it 'just how you want '
