Lets talk equipment...

First off, this is a PvM equipment discussion, so lets keep on track with that.

What does everyone look for on jewels? Im partial to DI, HCI, DCI and + Dex. The only + Skill piece I use is the Ancient Samurai Do (+10 Parry) because the resists are pretty great too.

What about arties?

Helms: Sam Helm, Glasses, Aegis of Grace?

Legs: Ember, Fey, or Barbed Kit Legs?

Gorget: Voice of the Fallen King, Jackals (if you can aford the price tag..)

Tunic: Heart of the Lion, Ancient Samurai Do, Rune Beetle Carapace, etc?

Arms: Tactical Excellence?

Gloves: Id have to say Stormgrip reigns king in this area, though possibly Stichers Mittens? Good resists and Healing bump...

Shield: Invulnerability seems to be the most common...does anyone use a Bloodwood enhanced shield for the HPR 2? You take a hit on the resists but it might be worth it...

Talisman: Primer on Arms is the one Ive seen worn the most. Totem of the Void is still viable for a Pally, but not as prevelant. Or do you leave the spot open for Slayer Talismen?

Hi, Ezekiel.

I don't think there's a magical suit. You can make any of those (and more) into something perfect for you.

A lot of it depends on your playstyle.

if you use chivalry spells all the time, totem of void would make sense, for instance. But if you're like me and only use chivalry to support bandages and sometimes to use other spells while not under fire, then primer of arms is good for the 20% damage increase and the ability to help make low-damage weapons (like soul seeker) better.

I love arms of battle excellence, but it's hard to make the resists work on a suit, so I only use it on my dexers mostly and not usually on my paladins.

Heart of lion is fantastic. But I do have ancient samurai do or vesper tunic and other types of tunics on various paladins, too.

If you have any or all of those, just go ahead and use them they're all good.

p.s. on shields, I like the 1/2 fc/fcr vesper museum shield or any shield that has fast cast and hci/dci on it.

Re: Lets talk equipment...

For jewels, we have at least 10 HCI, 10 DCI (nothing lower), FC, FCR

Crimson Cincture

Talisman of the Void for the LMC, and then I just change to a slayer talisman depending on what I'm hunting

I use Leggings of Bane on one char, Ember on another, Fey human leggings (depends on what I need for resist)

Violet courage for the resist and DCI

Jackal's Collar

Spirit of the Totem

Barbed sleeves and gloves to fix my resists.

Shield, I don't know where we got it, but it's got HCI and DCI

I wear a vet reward robe for the physical resist.

And then for weps I keep a few slayer weps in my bag. Undead, Deamon, Reptile being the most used.

Course not ;) Im just wondering what people are using mostly. Ive been toying with my suit here and there trying to tweak it. Im thinking that I am going to try to get myself a totem of the Void and possibly the Reading Glasses of the Arts to be able to drop some more points in Dex and get the bandies under 6 seconds...

The only universal that I think any and all "ready for battle" pallys should have is an Ex Armored Swampy. Unless you are going to Fel alone, I really dont see the reason for everyone to not be riding these...Ive been very impressed with how well they work. Once you get used to directing the huge beasts...

Crimson Cincture
I forgot about that piece...great addition. The hefty price tag makes it a ways off for me, but great for any meleer...

Re: Lets talk equipment...

Re: Lets talk equipment...

I forgot about the quiver of infinity. That one's good too.

Yeah horses wear armour when they go to battle. That's a good idea Cabe.

Re: Lets talk equipment...

Meh, probably because if you could armor anything, who the heck would ride a swampy? Theyd be driven out of the game...

I forgot the Quiver too. Great piece...blessed, 5 DCI, and in a "free" spot like the Crimson...much nicer pricetag too

Re: Lets talk equipment...

And there is always the buffs trick, Use reactive armor and magic reflection to add +5 to all elemental resists. You won't lose any physical. I think you need GM scribe to do it though. I stone off a skill to put the scribe on, then cast the spells, and take scribe off.

My dexxer suit uses mace and shield glasses. Thats the only artie she uses, I'm saving up for an ornie though. Not doin too well atm, keep spending it.

Personally, ure better having resists over 65 with mods, then all 70's without mods.

My dexxer suit ain't all 70's and I do well. You need 70 fire resist. (Thats a must.) 70 physical is needed for non PvP.

My favourite armor pieces:
Hats:
Kasa of the Ra'jin
Mace and shield reading glasses
Brightsight lenses

Gorget:
Pendant of the Magi
BKit armor

Tunics:
Carapice (nothing else will do, unless you've got good bkit armor.)

Arms:
BKit armor all the time, no decent artifact arms available

Gloves:
Stitchers for mages
Stormgrips for dexxers

Legs:
BKit armor all the way - Embers have no mods on them but I do use them for resists when I can afford.

Shield:
Aegis
Shield of Invulnerability
Chaos Shield 1/2 version

Totem:
Totem of the void
Primer on Arms

For the record, all those pieces won't make a good suit if mixed together, you need to get a good mix of mods on each piece to make a good suit. Armor needs to have over 60 resists ideally if its a bkit piece. Thats an average of 12% per resist. If you have 6 pieces with 60 resists on each, you can easily achieve all 70's withh good mods. Note the resists on the Kasa, they bump a suits resists brilliantly. But the mods aren't great, 12 sdi.

Re: Lets talk equipment...

Reading this I realized I need to update my equipment

I recently went on a shopping spree and made an all 70 suit (my first ) but on a few pieces I lack something in addition to the resist. This is what I use now:

Head: Gypsy Headdress ( I need something high in resist here, but with added mods)

Gorget: Mana Increase 2 (same here really..)
11/5/16/6/12

Ring of the elements
Resillient Bracer

Gloves: Stormgrip

Sleeves: From a BK
HP increase 4
LMC 5
4/19/14/5/5

Legs: Human fey leggings

Talisman: Primer on Arms Damage removal

Shield: Agapite shield ( I don`t think I need to change this one
RPD 10
HCI 9
DCI 15
FC 1
3/3/2/2/2
