I know templates like this are probably fairly often discussed, but heres what I have going so far.

100- Tactics
100- Anatomy
120- Fencing
100- Healing
100- Parry
100- Bushido
80- Chivalry

(+15 extra undecided points I have on this account to distribute)

This Isn't exactly a PvP build because I mainly PvM these days but, I'd like to know what/if any changes I should make. I read in another thread that swords would work better than fencing with bushido? Is this true or just a player opinion?

Also, the effects of parry/bushido blocking attacks kind of confuse me. I only want bushido for spell casting purposes etc and would like to know; If I have gm+ parry, will my bushido skill neutralize my parry with a 1 handed weapon rendering paryy useless, or will it just neutralize the blocking abilites of bushido? I understand bushido works best with a 2 handed weapon, but this seems to be choking me up some.

85- Bushido (can no longer ride hiryu, once this acc. turns 4yrs in a few months, I will redistribute the 5 points back into bushido for hiryu)

I lowered fencing from 120 to (110) and bushido to 85, took the 15 extra points and distributed all my remaining points into focus and meditation for the human extra 3mr/sr bonus. Ok Im not very familiar with this, but with this new template, I understand the bonus only works with medible armor only. So, will this allow me to go over the mr cap giving me a 15mr advantage? or is it something I shouldnt waste time with?

you can parry good with bushidio+parry and a 1 handed weapon.
IF you wear a shield tho, you will block nothing....
keep a hand free, and try to work in enhance pot 75% or better...might as well chug since you have a hand free as it is.

Swords > fencing on this temp for pvp reasons....if you don't pvp it won't matter much.
120 weapon skill is a must have.
20 focus, and 20 medi is a waste of skill.
go human form, and you have 20 focus and medi...just make sure you're armour is all "meddable" or you lose the +2 mr from medi. (this is the case now also with you having 20 real medi...if you wear non-med armour this is being nullified.)
For strictly pvm, no reason really to go ninjitsu, you are better off keeping the tactics...utilize honor, and use lightning strike alot along w/ enemy of one, consecrate, etc...you will do very good damage vs mobs.

For pvp Id switch out the tactics for ninjitsu 120...

My guess is the greater availability of 2 handed weps. Not really sure tho. I have about 70 Bushido on a SS Frag from the Motherlode event that is waiting for a use that will probably never come...

Its because of the changes to ubw.

most people who run with bush/parry in pvp templates prefer to use a bokuto for nerve strike.
A key to a bush/parry template is using evasion.
If you are fencing, and using a use best weapon bokuto to nerve, evasion will not work.
This means if you wanna evade with yer bok. on, you must be swords.

I have a similar template and it works well for me. I run
110 anat
90 bush
80 chiv
90 heal
120 swds
110 parry
115 tactics

I use this char for all spawning and it is also my main pvp char. it does great in both pvm/pvp aspects of the game. I carry a few orange petals and a pop box with me for the lack of resist. I use both 1h and 2h weapons. the reason i have the 90 bush is for LS and hiryu abilities. i dont get into all the ep and evasion stuff cause i just play to fight and die alot. I do occasionaly evade but thats just in huge ganks and if i'm trying to get out of it to try to fight 1 of them. i am more of a kamakazi fighter, where i run into a group and take atleast 1 down with me. I switch out with a bokuto and an insane ornate axe and hit REAL hard.

ah, this was all pretty helpful. I did get the JOAT thing figured out last night as I never really paid to much attention to it.

But, heres my problem. I really only want Bushido for spell usage reasons. I am a 1 handed wep/shield user for obvious reasons. I cant find a really good direct answer as to, does bushido neutralize my parry effects if I use a shield?

And as to the swords reason (greater availability of 2 handed weps), If Im a 1handed user, this shouldnt effect me as much since all my pvm weps are krysses and forks lol?

Sorry Im totally new to the bushido concept since my char has been pure pally since AoS, and before that on older accounts, pure warriors hehe.

Ah ok that makes sense. I missed this post earlier. Yeah I believe Ill be using it more for LS etc. I just cant see my self banking my shield for a 2h wep =\

So, Im all good w.o evasion in most cases, grab petals etc and use the box to make up my lack of resist which should keep me in the clear for the most part. thanks everyone who replied. cleared up everything :grin:
