Hello everyone,

I'm new to UO again after about 7-8 years off. Needless to say, there are a lot of changes to take in. I'm interested in developing my necro for PvP, but wanted to check with everyone to see what is suggested. I understand for PvP it is a good idea to get Power Scrolls and max skills at 110/115/120.

My current stats are:

85 STR
70 DEX
75 MANA

85 Necro
85.3 Spirit Speak
70.2 Fencing
Tactics 30.5
85 Magic Resist
71.4 Meditation

I want to create a Necro Fencer, but I'm not exactly sure how to proceed. Do I want to drop any of these skills or develop others? What do people recommend?

Your right about getting your skills scrolled out. That will go along way in helping. From the looks of things I would suggest you rethink your stats. You will really want your str as high as you can get it. Hit points are a good thing to have . Then you need to decide if you want to use necro more then fencing for offense/defense. Then adjust your dex and mana accordingly. There will be some others who have more experience on which skills work best. They can give you suggestions there.

You need to find another way to heal yourself other than spirit speak. Either healing/anat or magery or pots. You won't be able to fit tactics on a template like this so don't bother working it up unless you're going to soulstone it to another character. This goes same with meditation.

Without parry, a dexxer is just a walking meat shield in pvp. So consider putting that on there as well.

I tried making a necro fencer a while ago, and couldn't get it to work cause there are too many skills needed to be good in pvp. You could try a necro/bushido hybrid and use pots/confidence/spirit speak as your means to heal. Use a nice bokuto and nervestrike, painspike, poison strike, strangle ur way to victory.

curse weapon will help with the healing but may not be enough.

Necro fencers are too hard to get to work in PvP as Mercenary said, I'd also reccomend bush necro.

Okay, any more suggestions? Before I get too locked into a skill set? I'm open minded to dropping fencing and taking up something else if it's not useful. Archery?

Whats the best way to adjust STR, DEX, MANA? Assuming I want to increase some and drop others.

Hey man despite what these people tell you (since most of them are close minded about pvp and only stick to the same template advice over and over) a necro fencer is a badass template and is doing wonders for me. if you can max out your lmc and get a nice lrc suit, its a sweet spawns character. dont let any of these people discourage you.

mine has a 25 stat scroll and is at 100 str 65 dex and 90 int
when i do spawns with him im in wraith form so mana is no problem whatsoever
you can also switch out for a pendant of the magi if you have high enough resists
you dont need high dex if you have good ssi on a weapon, just get a spell channeling warfork and kryss
and you are good to go man its nice

Way to insult people for no reason there. Yes, a necro with any other abilities attached, is a great spawn character, but a necro fencer for pvp purposes is a joke. If you think otherwise, you can duel me anytime and I'll show you. Spamming wither at spawn points with your guildmates around to protect you isn't pvp.

necro mages, and necro/bushido with a killer bokuto and EP work in pvp, necro fencers do not.

edit: I read your post further and noticed you said Spell channeling warfork or kryss. You don't need SC. You only need SC if you're using magery, and since with a template like that you aren't using magery, you don't need SC. Also, fyi, spawning is PvM up until you get raided, and even then it's not real pvp, it's just choke point withering, field spells(which you won't even be able to cast), and learning how to res fast. No offense bud, but you should learn more about pvp before dishing out advice that in turn hurts others who might actually listen because it's wrong. Oh, and leave your insults to yourself please, it's not needed here. If you want to insult people go to stratics or the HOT boards, k?

i wasnt insulting, and i use magery on this template.

Cut it out Carl, nobody was insulting anyone until you went off on Mercenary and if you cannot post on these boards and act like an adult then maybe you should log out for a bit and come back when you're a little less angry or more mature, we are all here to help and sometimes people's opinons will differ their is no reason to get so hostile.

I didnt mean any disrespect, I appreciate all of the help that is given here and I'm sorry. But it just seems like every time someone wants to think out of the box and try something new, they get steered away from it. It just bothers me.

It may seem like that, but I assure you that is not the case. I have numerous friends whom on Sonoma could be easily called "PvP gods" and they have tried running necro fencers without avail, Mercenary has tried it so he has first hand experience with the template.

We were simply telling him what we knew of the template and Mercenary offered insight on why it did not work for him, no reason to get bent out of shape or hostile towards anyone -- this isn't Stratics.
