Is it a wise decision to throw some luck on my tamer? Can anyone give me some easy suggestions on how to raise luck without compromising my mage suit?

It will be very expensive to buy a good mage suit with high luck and they are kinda rare to find. But, I have a tamer and I have 1300 luck (Thank to Dip) but the resist are kinda crappy. That shouldn't be a problem if you hunt at swoops since they are not aggressive to you.

What features of your suit are you going to miss most? Just LRC, or MR and LMC too?

well i am going to miss my fc/fcr if i trade my scrappers/vesper shield for swords of prosperity. i wear taming jewels because im too lazy to finish it so thats how i get my fc/fcr. i dont really care about resists since my pet does all the work most of the time.

Luck severly affects your chance for a minor artie drop from a paragon, and comes into play for major artifacts as well. There is also the loot property increase factor (originally called "the bump").
For example, your chances for a minor artie drop from a blood paragon at 0 luck is 1 in 37. With 700 luck, it is 1 in 27. With 1200 luck (the old cap), it would be 1 in 24. With 1800 luck, it would be about 1 in 23. ( this is pre-artie drop nerf, so I do not know the new rates, but the ratios will still be the same)

Back in the day, we figured out that the biggest margin for increase was up to about 750~800, then your percentage gains get smaller. At 800, 1 in 3 monsters will have more (up to their max) loot, a 1 in 3 chance for more properties per item, and a 1 in 3 chance for those properties to be higer intensity. At 0 luck, that is like 1 in 20.

What other skills do you have besides taming? Peace? Discord?

For LRC replacement, try to get AOF. If you are an elf, get those robe thingies that give luck to elves only.

You should be able to get about 700 luck by replacing armor peices, without sacrificng your jewels.

Which shard are you on? I saw on uoauctions2 that some really sweet luck items with LRC were going for about 100k (what a deflater THAT is).

Thanks alot that helped me bigtime. Im on atlantic. Right now I got up to 585 luck with my armor/swords/robe. When I can afford it ill get AoF and replace my pendant of the magi for a lucky necklace. My armor peices have about 90 luck and lrc. Besides my taming skills I have magery eval and med.

reason I asked about skills is to take barding into acount. With barding, especially peace, you dont need to cast anywhere near as much, so you can get away with little FC/FCR.

Have you checked tradespot for luck items fro sale? From waht I can see on other sites, it's getting pretty cheap for 120 luck. That would get you to 700 easy. Unfortuantely, there are only 12 items listed on UO Auctions 2 for Atlantic, but they are 120 power scrolls, if you need any.

Well would you reccomend dropping eval and med for music and peace? Im using this character for peerless and doom, so magery seemed like an obvious choice since pets can die so easily at those places

well, area peace is INCREDIBLY helpful. It will let you get your pets healed up fast.
I have no idea of what a peerless is , but it should help. I liked peace beacuase I could bandage and spam area peace at the same time. Hard to cast spells and bandage at the same time. Plus, when you get to use targetted peace, WOW, does THAT make a difference.

Really, in the end, it's all up to you. I always played a bard, so it was natural for me to have peace and taming. I know other tamers who were almost as successful with full magery. It's all in your timing.

If that is all you do, I would suggest staying with magery, as it allows many more options than I had.
