from trying to get one more recipe from Olla or Lohn...that of the extremely rare Luminous Rune Blade. No scripting here, for the iron ore mined and smelted into ingots, to make tongs, bascinets and broadswords. How many more hours and ingots will it take to get that last smith recipe? By the way, the other recipe i needed was the Cold Forged Rune Blade which took 195K ingots to get. I thought i was a patient person until Heartwood came along. This targeting swords in my pack is driving me insane!!!! Maybe the next bag will contain the elusive recipe so I don't have to keep dodging Ancient, shadow, white wyrms, drakes, serpentine, and regular dragons just to get to heartwood on Napa Valley (see incomplete travel advisory which only says YEW, but forgot to include Heartwood). Nah, just more smeltable weapons, the same old common recipes, nerfed talismens like the one that only says Talisman and no other attributes, and jewelry with useless mods that I can only toss into the trash can. Back to mining and praying I don't get ganked by dragonkin on my next session of tedium in questland. If this belongs in spam/rant, please feel free to shove this post there.

I haven't taken the time to gather all the recipes. Did get several (not the majors) when ML came out. Then they reduced the loot intensity and it really did seem pointless then.

I wish there was a way to target an entire pouch as quest items. That would make the process much more bearable. Clicking individual tiny items is highly frustrating!!!

Me too! And they have to be in your main pack. So I have to drag them one by one from my board bag and toggle quest item.

I've been doing the footstool quest again. But I usually just go in with a beetle and a pack full of boards. When I use all that up I'm done for the day.

I used to do the heartwood quests a lot before they nerfed the rewards. Trained my fletcher there too.

I visited Napa Heartwood this afternoon and managed to dodge the reptiles on a noob character. My question is: can runes not be marked in the vicinity of the Heartwood teleporter during this event? And: Do you have a stealther available on Napa that can transport ingots for your blacksmith, who could stay in Heartwood and use the ingots as delivered by the stealther? Another alternative would be to soulstone Blacksmithing to your stealther for a while.

Rhus I believe they make the area exempt from recalling/gating . I haven't checked that lately but believe it works that way

When UO Stuff describes the recipe as extremely rare, I have no idea if they mean rare as in a valorite hammer LBOD/darn near impossible, or like getting an ASOS/possible over reasonable time. Do I want to keep on mining and throwing away ingots for hours on end, and then get nothing in return? I feel like the nerf to rewards in Heartwood is overly severe.
Aye Rhus, a rune was marked next to the teleporter by a dear friend, where i was eaten in 2 bites by a red dragon on my first landing there. Luckily the 16k iron ingots on my beetle survived the massacre. I was able to rez in the healer's hut, watch in amazement as the npc paladin took out the dragon, recoup my belongings including 3500 ingots on my corpse. Your idea of a stealther helping to deliver is good if there was a secure place to stash those ingots. Would it be fair to friend a pet from a different account or would that pet go wild too fast? My stealther is going to recon that LZ from now on! Thanks for the suggestions.

yuh know whats funny is, back when I first got ML, I had no idea what recipes were rare or not due to the fact I didnt do that beta. But If memory serves me right, I think the rune blade was one of my first recipes I got
