![]() | Back after years I haven't played ultima in years but i came back and reactivated and i was wondering where to go with all this new stuff that's come out. i've been doing a little homework and it seems like my old mage could easily fall into a decent template. basically i was thinking of doing an inscription mage and i want something that can pvm, and pvp and i wondered if this would work. 100 inscription 120 magery 120 med 120 eval 120 resist *80 wrestling i was looking up stuff and it seems to be a consensus that if you are using wrestling to stop attacks you only need 80 of it? i was a little confused why you wouldn't want 100 or 120. does that stop it more? i was gonna use those slayer spellbooks to help out my pvm and then i figured i would just hurl magic at people in a pvp fight i guess my questions are, does the inscription mage work well? can mages pvm well with a slayer spellbook or should i use a fancy spell channeler mage weapon combo? Would wrestle stack with the eval/anat dodge bonus and is that worth it to try for? Would i be better getting a lot of poisoning skill and using the poison spell to cover pvp and then relying on a slayer spellbook for pvm? And how good is spell channeling for me to pick up. on a given foray of pvm i may be the only spell channeler because it looks like both my friends are going dexer. Is spell channeling worth while? i have 720 skillpoints to spend i jsut don't know where to set them all, i am out of the loop so i wanna use magic resist instead of relying on the ten million countermeasure items. ![]() | Re: Back after years yeah i'm crunching numbers a possible final build could look like this 100 inscription 80 wrestling 100 meditation 90 poison 120 eval 120 resist 110 magery what do you tink of that? part of me wants to try 110 resist so i can have 120 magery because i am semi familiar with boom boxes and i have a gm alchemist for cure potions but i dunno. And do i really only need 80 wrestling if i'm only interested in repelling physical attacks or is it just that the defense bonus past 80 isn't worth the skill points. And is going all the way to 100 worthwhile as a Nox mage or is 90 just as good? also how much does distance matter cause harm you have to be the tile right next to them for distance to not screw you is it the same for poison? Oh i was also wondering about when i am wearing a piece of jewelry that increases my spell damage by 11% and holding a spellbook tahat increases spell damage by 9% do they 2 stack to be 20% or does only the greater bonus apply like would only the 11% bonus from the jewel pump me?.
