Well, I have recently been back in the UO game. I played back in the day, and instead of reactivating my account, I bought a new one.
I couldn't remember the password or the username.

And today, for some reason, right when I woke up I remembered it!
So I thought about it at work today, and when I got home I just reactivated the account. Apparently the account was created January 2000. That's old school.

It was fun to look at all of my old characters. I was hoping that I would find some extreme rares, but alas... I was poor. The only thing worth any cash is the rewards I'm getting, which is only first year vet rewards since the account has only been active 13 months.

Sadly, I'm not going to keep the account. My tamer is rocking pretty hard already, and I'd hate to delete any of the characters on the old account out of sentimental value.

I do have a couple decent items that are worth some good cash, but most is just newbie stuff. I mean, I was 13 years old. Can't exactly be good at UO when you're 13.
Actually, I've got a bank balance of 214k on my character, which considering how old I was is pretty good. Most people nowadays don't think that's a lot, but that was a small fortune back then.


Speaking of which, how much are my sandals worth?

I played UO from 97 to @ 2001-2. When I came back a few months ago I couldnt remember my original account info either and just started over with a new account ---- I'm finding that's half the fun anyhow, being a newbie!

I remember back then too ---- 200k WAS a fortune!!! I think that was the thing that shocked me most upon my return --- the economy and how incredibly expensive everything is!!! instead of talking in "thousands" or "hundreds of thousands" .. we talk in millions and it's nothing. I was floored by this. It was a tad overwhelming (still is!) and discouraging to see this.

Ha, I hear ya.
I've actually made a million already... Quite a few actually.
But still, it's amazing that the value of gold has dropped so dramatically.

Just yesterday I spent 250k on a pair of sleeves. Sleeves!

But... At least I got a couple dye tubs, and my old black sandals back. That, and just seeing my old characters again was kind of nice.

Now for the fun part of the day... Doing my taxes!
