Hey all -

I've been working compassion trying to get Knight or whatever for that rez-heal bonus

So if anybody ever wants to work compassion, let me know. I'd be glad to be the designated Gate-er (for the non-mages).

I usually grab escorts from Cove...

Oh and from Follower to Knight, is it one dot per day? And how fast do they decay? I haven't done it in a few days.

Both, I never got into the virtues before I left UO... not sure hwo they all work.

You gain compassion by doing escorts. Pretty easy to get to Seeker and then Follower, but it's slow getting to Knight of Compassion. You can do up to 5 escorts a day to gain compassion, you'll get a message that you need to wait 24 hours before you can gain more (something like that).

When you've got compassion and you res someone, they come back with some of their health. At Seeker, it's 20% of hp. At Follower, 40% hp. At Knight, its 80% hp, the highest.

Did I ask before if this worked with Noble Sacrifice?

I only know about Compassion, which you get by escorting NPC's to various towns. Mages can obviously gate, but if you aren't a mage, you can still escort NPC's if you have a mage friend who can throw up a gate to the requested destination

There are 3 levels of compassion, and the benefit of achieving each level is that you will resurrect people with some percentage of their hit points restored (using magic or bandages):

* First step: 20% of their maximum Hits.
* Second step: 40% of their maximum Hits.
* Third step: 80% of their maximum Hits.

If you look at Compassion on your virtue gump on your paperdoll, there are 10 dots per level. To earn each level, UOStuff.com reports:
* 1 NPC per dot at level one compassion
* 2 NPC per dot at level two compassion
* 3 NPC per dot at level three compassion.

Each NPC pays 500gp per escort, and you can do up to 5 escorts per day towards your compassion. (You can do more - you just won't earn compassion beyond 5 - but you'll still get paid! hehe)

I'm not sure how quickly compassion decays, but I think it's pretty quickly. You pretty much have to do a little every day or close to it.

According to Stratics, it only works with bandages and mage resurrection spells (but who knows if Noble Sacrifice existed last time that page was updated...)

If you escort Bravehorn, you can do it quicker. Drag him to his watering hole like for the elf quest, then kill him. He respawns and you can do it again immediately. Go do it in fel and you gain more compassion per shot too.
