Do bushido mages work well with PvP? I was thinking of adding Bushido to my template for the sake of being able to use nervestrike, though it seems like a waste of skills just for 1 special move.

What do you guys think?

They still work great, but nervestrike is based on how high ur bushido is, so to get the most out of it you'd need to 120 bushido. Like I've said previously though, I personally think a mage who relies on a weapon is faulty because of disarm, but that's just me. If you can get a killer SC bokuto though, it's worth looking into.

edit: If you can work in a nice ecru ring as well, then it's definitely worth trying.

I would not say as a Bushido mage that I would personally rely on a weapon but those nervestrikes would help, I have a real nice SC bokuto right now, except it's not UBWS I wish it was since I have fencing on my mage and not swords.

I wouldn't bother then, until you find a really nice bokuto. Most templates only work if you have the right gear, especially in a pvp situation. People make the mistake of changing their characters to a new build without having the proper equipment first.

I usually only change stuff up if I find or make something godly. I've found some weapons that I've built a template around due to the weapon's godliness, but I've never built a char then looked for the proper stuff, it just takes too long to do it that way. If you got something that works, only change it if you find equipment that you know you can't pass up to use.

bushido on a mage is useless unless its 110 or higher, and you have atleast gm parry, with 80+ dex to go w/ it.
Also you gotta be on a lesser hiryu, w/ a nice bok, as well as a disarm weap to use...and if u are dismoutned gotta use pet ball and cure hiryu.
EP is a must have, and for the 80+ dex thing you will most likely need to carry at least blue pots, if not blue and white...
and of course tons of gh, gc, tr, apples, etc...


Pretty effective template for gimping around the yew gate...but very item intensive, and no room for medi on it.

also yea if yer fencing don't bother...as you cannot evade w/ a ubw bokuto as a fencer.

Or you could use my template who doesn't chug pots and is still near impossible to kill 1v1 duals. 4 ways to heal helps. Pots are an awful thing to rely on, what happens when you get killed in a dungeon fight????? Run out, wait to unflag then recall to house, get pots and hope you can get back into the fight - I think not, you'd be kicked from my guild for doing something like that.
