Lightbulb Sending a parcel overseas- Need some help

Hi all,

I'm sending a parcel to the USA via DHL

I have to fill out a..Proforma Invoice (customs stuff)

One of the questions on the sheet is...

"Name and Address of Manufacturer"

Eh? Is that my address or something else?

It also has "Customs Code number", which I haven't got a clue about either

At the declaration part, it says

"I declare that the above information is true and correct to the best of my knowledge,
and that the goods are of .................................. origin."

What do I put in the .......................... bit? hehe

Re: Sending a parcel overseas- Need some help

Hmm, I have filled out custom forms to Canada many times. You may want to make sure you don't have a custom form for a business who is selling goods. Also in some countries you can't ship like play stations and computer parts etc. Usually I just have to write what the contents are, their declared value etc. However the Business forms are differnt. Can you send it Via your post office? They can probably help you fill the form out while your there and may be a little bit cheaper then DHL?

Re: Sending a parcel overseas- Need some help

last time i sent something to the us i went through royal mail... they were pretty good.
anyway..
Manufacturers adress.. im guessing its whoever made what your sending.
im guessing the customs code number is something the customs people fill in...
as for the origin i'ld probably put english, or united kingdom, ie where its comeing from...

*shrug* hope that helps

Re: Sending a parcel overseas- Need some help

That one is tricky, I've done them to the USA but never had to send a parcel over seas. I'd go with the advice from Snuggle, fill the form out with them. I don't know who DHL is, I always use our postal system or if it is a rush UPS or something along that line. Custom code number is something for them to use, but then I could be wrong. Good Luck Adam, sorry I couldn't shed any light for you.
