This post may get me warned by the admin but I don't care. I'm gonna speak my mind here...............

I once paged on a character called "A Crack Fiend"!!!!!!!!!!!! But that char is still running round Sonoma. In the page I mentioned that I used to have a drug addiction and it offended me and brought back bad memories. (All lies btw.) I also said that allowing the name to continue was a bad influence on the younger generation of UO players. Ok, since then I've joined a guild that that character plays in, and so I'm no longer bothered. In fact I wasn't really bothered in the 1st place. I only did it for the amusement.

GM's aren't worth my time of day. Half the time they send you the generic answer, how mad would you be if a Harrower tenticle got stuck in a wall, like they often do. And the response you get is "Consult UO.com, the answer to your question can be found in the FAQ." Like hell it can. I've paged 5 times on the same issue because a GM wouldn't help out, when it wasn't on the bleeding UO website.

So GM's are a waste of time.......................

Unfortunately it is frustrating, I know what you mean, GM's are not responding or providing customer service at all. I never use them but when I do I expect actions and not a response to visit a site. You are not alone, several people are very disappointed. I was in the q the other day for over 3 1/2 hours and gave up. Hang in there.....we are all in the same boat

First off, if I were to make a Jesus Christ character that was red (player killer) I would hope that the world could accept the fact that throughout history, THIS MANS NAME HAS CAUSED MORE DEATH THAN ANY OTHER IN HISTORY. Just look at the fact that all wars in history have been for religion, including the current one.

Just to let everyone understand me a bit better, i'm in no way atheist. Just agnostic. In fact, i have a 9-year account with a few religious names. None offensive. One example, if your on sanoma you might have run into Joe of Aramathea. He is a pure mule character, crafter like in real history, but also the last known human to touch the holy grail. The whole pc thing irl and ingame is purely about griefing _ LETS ALL BAN THE NAME BRUCE BECAUSE I HAD A STEPFATHER NAMED THAT THAT USED TO BEAT ME< what ever happened to common sense?

That reminds me of something Stan Lee said. The producer for the Incredible Hulk show said he didn't like the name "Bruce Banner" because it sounded "too homosexual." So therefore the "David Banner" renaming.

And the irony? Bruce is Batman's first name and the TV show and comic had long had this reputation. Almost nothing else about Hulk & Batman are similiar. (Fans of the comic would yell at me if I forget to mention the villain Bane somewhat resembles Hulk upon minimal inspection.)

And the irony further abounds when you think Bruce Cambell (star of three earlier Sam Raimi projects) gets even more screen time than in the Spiderman movies than Stan Lee himself. And, really, Bruce is so macho that even having the char name "Ash" in his movies wouldn't diminish it.

Some wars are actually fought for economic reasons, but I agree a lot are for religious ones. nothin' more fun then killin' in the name of God!

If it were up to me the person with the offensive name would have the name changed and the person who thought it was offensive would get a 2 week account ban for being an idiot and letting it offend them.

Its unfortunate that no matter what you do someone somewhere will be offended. You could be a hermit living in a cave and someone would be angry with you because you don't even have the “decency” to come down and talk to them.

Whats even worse is that if you have 1,000,000 people and asked them if they were offended by the name Jesus Krist and 999,999 of them say no and 1 said yes the name would be changed. 1 out of 1 million would force the change, the opinions of 999,999 people would be ignored. Its enough to make you want to puke!

That being said, I think if someone with the name Jesus was following you around quoting scripture that would be harassment and that person should be baned and the account deleted. At that point it is no longer a matter of “may be” offensive, by following you it is a deliberate active harassment.

But my real question is if you were PK'd by Jesus would you be automatically resurrected and healed?

Did you have to pick such absurd names that were far out of place in the world of Sosaria to begin with? Also, what did the GM really say to you?

You have a very limited, ignorant understanding of the history of warfare throughout the ages. Give some people credit for having fought wars for something other than a shaman's bead rattling/holy book thumping.
