Huh... conflicting thoughts... but oh well, I'll toss them up for you all to debate.

Mages have offensive/defensive spells.

Tamers have... offensive/defensive pets.

I do not want to hear NERF thrown around with the term MAGE ever. Mages have the ability to summon ________ (Taming), can dish out damage from a distance (Archery), can Paralyze (Melee Special Move), Poison (Poisoning), restrict movement (bag balls, etc), Heal/Cure/Resurrect (Healing/Chiv/SS/Bush), and the list goes on. So they took out the Taming portion of the skill for this event only, live with it and dry those eyes.

is this effecting fel? myself im takeing a short break from uo since i have exams this week, but i used to champ spawn quite a bit anf even though i had all the necro with regen and writh form and everything i still used ev's to kill some of the spawn.

DiP, how can mages restrict movement? and can mages get up to and over 100 points of damage from ranges attacks? no they cant, archers can, worriors can get up to over that as well in close combat. Mages take a hell of a beating if they lag even a little bit since in close-combat they cant fight things with big spells so only have the little spells to help themselfes. Remember not eveey mage has 2/6 faster casting, nor does every mage have max sdi/120 eval/scribe. Magery is the most nurfed skill in the game. When the new expansions come out there is never a new skill to go with magery to make it better, where with bushido and ninjitsu worriors got two skills to chose from, then with ML archers got brand new bows, and the ability to craft great weapons. Yes there were some items that helped mages, but they dont do much.

End of story.

Gala, yes it effects Fel.

I understand your stance, it's just that Mages NEEEEEEDDDEEEED nerfing, and still do IMHO.

I've played most templates brought up to date, and even a straight Mage (do those truly exist anymore? There are more hybrid Mage templates than anything) is still overpowered IN GENERAL. Yes, Archers do 100+ damage WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT (not every mage is 2/6 max etc. etc. same could be said for archers/meleers/crafters) and Meleers have the ability too. I've already killed dragons/ogre lords on my NEWBY MAGE on LA (ok, he's trained to 90+ Magery + Eval and GM Med, but that's all he has with crappy gear) so don't go complaining that you can't do it on a mage.

I've also died on a 90% developed Archer in Destard, more than I can say for the Mage stated above. This death was only about 5 minutes after getting 2 books with said Mage.

Edit: Now that I thought of it for another 3 seconds, I could have killed the same Ogre Lord and Dragon on a fresh Mage (50 Magery + 50 Eval) with a decent suit if I wanted to. I killed both with only using lvl 4 spells and below, haha the main direct damage spell I used was Magic Arrow due to lack of Mana + LMC.

and I am more talking a roleplaying Mage,who doesnt wear LRC/mage armour or Fc/Fcr jewellry as per Roe

Glad 1 exists.

But I think it's safe to assume you won't expect to run through the tougher mobs the way any decked out character of any profession will do. You should be going after things which you are fully capable of handling. Trust me, I fully understand the crutch that is labeled EV, I use it too, why not? But it is exactly that, a crutch.

It is affecting Felucca big time. I was just in a large battle in Hythloth this evening and the hell hounds kept dispelling all the summons and energy vortices. It was so annoying.

see i think now finding someone doing a harrower and sitting there as a ghost would be funny as hell.... if anything is auto-despelling then its gotta be comical to watch them try and beat up a harrower... but anyway DiP, you say with the right equipment, which is the sticks of the matter... with the right equipment on my archer and no 20-second lag spikes i can single-handedly take down an ancient wyrum, with the equipment and the lag spikes i get at the moment i get killed by dragons sometimes. You just have to remember there are alot of people who run around with lower-level armour because its the best they have and hence dragons fireballs do around 50 points of damage to them, so two fireballs and your dead... *shrug* i dunno, myself i dont hunt much anymore on a mage and when i used to hunt properly i always used my tamer (which makes things soooo much easier) but anyway... i gotta get going have a physics test ive barely revised for in just over two hours... gonna go into uni grab lunch and do some work c ya guys later!

Who uses summons to kill the Harrower anymore? We don't.
