I am kendric of the knights of the dragon a training guild in chessy of uo. I started back in 98 when i played in those days roleplaying in the game was a bigg thing and now it seems to have died. I am starting a new system of roleplay and hopefully i will bring back the weddings and social side of role play. The system i will be testing and putting into play on chessy is as follows.

The prosses of courting and wedding


1. the prosses will begin at a batchlers ball to witch anyone may host. At the ball you are able to court get to know and interact with the ladies of the land. As this has had a lot of planning into it and it derives from the real traditions of the middle ages the ladies may not initiate the courting prosses. so ladies your may only turn on your charm and batt your eyes to get the males attention. the men you must anounce a woman of your choice to court once this is done no other male may court for 2 weeks.

2. once you have courted and decided on the lady you wish to marry you will find the goverer of your city and recieve a book to witch you will get 2 signatures. one person of the bride and one of the groms. this prosses is to mimic the blessing of the marridge by the kin of both sides and the date of your wedding. Apon completion you will give this book to the govener for finalization. At the next ball anounce your wedding and invite your friends.

3. Choosing locations are kinda funny in the fact that by tradition the bride chooses the wedding place and the groom chooses the reception area.

4. After the wedding you will get a book that has been set for you and your bride that sanctafies your marridge.

NOTE: this is a role play action only this has no barring on real life and is fictional only.

As a UOWedding Cleric, and having done many a wedding across the lands, I am wondering how is this done?

queen mum it is a prosses i do not relinquiish well how ever if you contact me by icq i will do what i can to explain it. also if you wish to see a video that however is not part of weddings just some uo footage of pvp and spawns go to www.youtube.com search for uokod and you will be able to see that this is a real deal.

Unfortunately, I have never acknowledged in-game "romance" to be linked with roleplaying. I wish you luck with your endeavour though.

True roleplaying has been systematically destroyed by EA and now Mythic. Characters spouting "thee" and "thou" while wearing a blaze robe to partially hide their tiding reward armor is the extent of roleplay at large within this game anymore.....

It has ceased to be a roleplaying game, and become an "RPG, LOL".

I think the problem with roleplay is that it has the stigma of being "trammy".

I beleive the reason this game keeps players is because of the unique pvp system. The pvp is UO is better than the pvp in WoW, but barely in my opinion.

Unfortunately, if you were to compare WoW pvm with UO pvm then WoW would come out on top. Actually I think WoW pvm is FAR superior to UO pvm.

So anyway, My point is that more of the UO players are fel based pvpers who look at roleplay as being trammy.

That's odd since the highpoint of roleplaying in this game was before the creation of Trammel. Also odd since the majority of the few roleplayers left tend to live and hunt in Felucca.

I think you're confusing roleplaying with someone color coordinating their marty outfit to match their Royal Guard sash.

here on chessy some roleplayers are fel as one of our cities but we have 5 cities all have their oun theme and way of doing things.... oh and fraps don't work i tried many and found one but it required tweaking to work..... as for uo and wow i play both but uo has divercity and option where wow is more you are or your not. mage dexers not mag or a dexer only. kinda sucks.. oh and as for the comment about trammies my friend i am a roleplayer and i have a red in fel hmmmmmm little bit far from a trammy

plus our role play community is starting to try spawns so we are far from trammies but we are roleplayers role play is nothing more then placeing your self into your charictor and playing it out. have fun

You can't get fraps to work? I've been using it. Granted it consumes my system's resources but it should work fine when not in a PvP situation.

Just curious though, what did you finally end up using?

I'm not confusing roleplay with anything.

My point is that I think UO appeals the most to hardcore pvp types. Of course there are exceptions. These types, from what I have seen, view roleplaying as being trammy.
