![]() ![]() | How do you stop fizzling? How do you guys help from fizzling on PvP mages? I can do just fine with my mage against your average pvp dexxer and almost all mages, but those nasty fast dexxers eat me up sometimes. What do you guys use? Wrestling? Staff of magi?

![]() ![]() | Re: How do you stop fizzling? The mages I have fight mostly have wrestle or a wep that can disarm. Also, maxing out on HCI for disarms and DCI for defense helps a lot. I think it depends on the field you are in. If you are in a group you can afford not to have a wep but solo a melee skill helps a lot. 2/6 casting is a must as well. My mage has a good warfork s/ SSI 25, SC, and HLD. HLD helps a lot since it seems once in effect they are pretty much a punching bag for a sec or 2. The down side of a melee w/ a wep is if you are disarmed then you are defenseless for a bit so some people like wrestling so they can chug pots and disarm. Good luck and I hope the info was somewhat helpful. I hope to never meet you in Fel....lol |

![]() | Re: How do you stop fizzling? To keep from being fizzled by mages you just need to be fast casting spells to fizzle them first. Against dexxers you need the suit to help. In my suit I use AOF (15 dci), Fey Legs (20 dci) and a 1/3 ring with 9 dci. This brings me to 44 dci without a shield. Combined with 120 weapon skill I do just fine against most dexxers. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: How do you stop fizzling? it's also all about your connection too. Most of your self professed "leet duelists" all say this when challenging a duel "come to east/west coast and duel me for houses/cars/pets IRL" Most of them are absolute garbage(and complete nerds too) on any server that pings above their home shard...... go find most of the bigger guilds personal forums, and you can eventually see who their "leet" dueler is, by all the challenges they offer to people to come to their shard and duel..... other than that, get REALLY good at memorizing and timing your macros down to a T. When connection isnt a factor, its all about coordination and memorization.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: How do you stop fizzling? 120 wrestle, 45 DCI, hit lower attack weapon, cast smaller spells, or use protection if you haven't gotten ur timing down. You could also try a hybrid warrior/mage with 120 parry and 80 dex, but i've found i run outta mana too much with that one. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: How do you stop fizzling? I ran into this problem myself. My character has GM fencing (which in some ways I sort of regret) and I carry a dinky spell channeling warfork so I can disarm and bleed attack. When it comes to fizzling, though, I have found that the key is to get your timing down and know what spells to cast.
