Lots of real good ideas here. I wonder if any will be implemented. I like the entry fee, and safe zone for spectators. I think the entry fee should be scaleable to a characters ranking. Amateurs should be cheaper, and professionals more expensive. There should be a small fee for seating tickets, and a percentage "house take" on all bets. Anything to help sink the gold and stabalize the economy.

I don't like the idea of charging spectators, that would suck. But the betting idea. I like that. But surely you would get players that actually take the bookie role up on their own back. Would add a lot of realism to the game. Especially if it was set in an ampitheatre. With all the people sat around. The GM's could organise events around the arena, or have special fight nights, where you win cool stuff. Or the prize is like 10 mill or something. Incentiveisation is a tool that UO need to use more often.

I think a Gladiator arena would be a great idea. Seats for spectators, betting vendors, and some good 1 vs. 1. Maybe an occassional tourny... etc.

Hehe, it's called test center! Everyone there can go and make a character and build them up and gear them up in 10 mins or so. If you are the best pvp'er on test center that's saying something cause everyone is essentially on the same level item wise and if you're not it doesn't take long to be there. It's the closest thing you can get to old school non-item based pvp because it sort of takes the item based part of the game out due to the fact that everyone can be on the same level in terms of items. So as a result, in the end it all comes down to skill. People will obviously not agree with this, but I've seen some of the best pvp on test center.

It will get lame, however, if you fight those people who have macroes dedicated to test center. I was testing a template a few weeks ago and fought some guy who had macroes set so that he could adjust his characters stats/skill accordingly depending on what template he figured out you were using. That is pretty weak, but other than that, test center is the best place to pvp just for the sake of pvping.

well i dont think thats true... go to siege perilous... no item insurance... finding chars in fel with arties is rediculous.... if ur lucky they are running with lrc armor if that with 1/3 jewels which most dont even risk those...
most people run with gm armor and 1/2 jewels...
