Yew Gate Ownage

I have 2 characters, one of which i would like to turn into a good pvp character. I havent pvp'd since before AOS, so advice is needed.

My first char is a straightforward mage, (mage,med,eval,resist,scribe,focus,spirit speak)

My other guy is a pally, (swords,tact,anat,heal,resist,chiv,parry)

I want to turn one into a good pvper

the only other possibility i have explored is archery

help please!

cutter is right, a field pvp'er needs ninjitsu, unless you're a mage. Even then it helps. My question is, why bother with yew gate. It's lame for pvp and won't help you improve cause it's not real pvp tactics, its more of just running and hiding in houses.

someimtes thats fun

myself...the most fun pvp for me is yew gate, preferably on test (wish i had my cats stuff there =<) because theres tons more ppl.

UO is like a FPS to me....
mindless pvp is the most enjoyable for me...run and shoot, run and shoot...

spawning gets boring...(i can only chain despise w/o even getting raided just so many times before i get dizzy...)

whats left is simply mindless pvp, and thats what I enjoy the most.

yep as Merc said get out of yew. You will NEVER learn how to really fight sitting around int yew. You will of course learn how to gank the nearest red, shoot/cast out of a house, and memorize your "Guards" macro....


for your template, get rid of ss/focus. Those serve no purpose on that template. Try to get a staff of the magi and put ninjitsu on there, and you should be good.

Gate fighting is crap, you will never learn anything as the others have said other than how to run into houses.

Go find yourself a spawn or harrower to fight at.

yeah spawns and harrys just show everyone who the best choke point fighters are. But if you have just a mess of people running around terra not having time to put down the choke points and then someone pops the spawn so now you have to deal with running around the scorpions, and then it leads to deceit and out on ice island. Thats fun......not 20 people sitting on one side of despise bridge, while the other side has 20 people just staring at eachother through 10 rows of E-fields....yhay!!

You don't need stealth or hiding or anything else for that matter for ninjitsu to be great. Death strike, animal form, mirror image are the more useful ninjitsu skills and all of them can be used without stealth or any other skill for that matter.

It's good on a mage because you can deathstrike with your fists as well as change into a wolf and run if you get dismounted.

edit: bahh, cutter responded while I was typing this so I ended up saying the same thing he said. woops
