How do you train your magery & what kind of stats do you go with?

As far as stats go you want low dex around 20-25 and high int (my mage has 141 int/180 mana) and around 100 str

At npc training level, cast Protection until you can cast Bless. Then cast Bless until you can cast Magic Reflection. You can stay with Magic Reflection nearly all the way to GM, by using a Staff of Power (spellchannelling -15 mage weapon) at around 70 skill level, then using a series of wands or spellchannelling weapons (-20 thru -29) to the high 90's, at which point keep the -29 wand and switch to the Invisibility spell.

If you do your gaining in the blackrock area, you can GM magery in a single day.

I'm at 70 now. I will find one of those wands... and cast invisability to GM. Correct?

If you're at 70 natural Magery, equip a Staff of Power (minor artifact, they are cheap, usually around 5k) which at -15 will take your magery to 55. Then start casting Magic Reflection until your magery has worked back up to 65 or so. At this point your natural magery will be 80. Unequip the Staff of Power and substitute a -25 wand, or as close to -25 as you can get. This will drop your magery back down to 55 again, at which point keep casting Magic Reflection. Again work your way back up to 65 with the wand equipped, using the Magic Reflection spell. Unequip the wand, your natural magery will now be 90. Equip a -29 wand, which will drop your magery to 61, and continue to cast Magic Reflection. Again work your way up to 65, casting Magic Reflection. You will probably start seeing fewer gains at this point. When the gains start to drop to very few, switch to Invisibility with the -29 wand still equipped. Stay with Invisibility until you hit GM.

I have helped a dozen or so people with this method at the blackrock area, they all reported great success with it and were quite happy with the results. (I actually gave out a lot of my wands and Staffs of Power, and haven't gotten them back, either.)

This method works well because there is a sweet spot between 55 and 65 skill in which speed of gains are maxed and fizzles are held to a reasonable level.

If you can't find wands, spell-channelling mage weapons and bows work just as well.

ok but after u hit 102 magery what do u do with the -29 mage wand... im stuck at 102 lol going 120!! info plz!

I'd probably cast Invisibility after GM with a -29 wand, it should get you some gains. After that you can try Energy Fields. Unfortunately there are no easy-to-spam spells at the high levels that will get you easy gains. Casting Earthquake without the wand will probably get you gains as fast as possible at that level, although you would probably need some LMC items.

Since 8x8 is gone has the "jewel trick" lost all effectiveness?

And how plausible would letting a Satyr Discord you and keeping the wand equipped be? That should take you down quite a bit....
