So I just got ML...

'cause I am cheap and lazy....and I waited for 9th age.

Anyway, I haven't done any of the ml dungeons yet, nor do I know the first thing about them.

Is there any dungeon I could do alone or no? If so which character type would you recommend?

Unless you are really really an elite player. You can't solo any of the peerless's. You can get into all of them by yourself. Many of them you will be able to collect the keys for the peerless by yourself. Some will take a special item to get into (acid proof rope, bone machette, 10k gold). Others you have to do a quest. Have fun exploring the new areas

I looked around for what you need and who is there info. It's just hard to gauge how difficult it is or who's best to go with, you know?

Re: So I just got ML...

Ah, I see.

Well, my takes:

Bedlam: Name is very appropriate. Bring friends focusing on Magery and Melee. I dont think bards or tamers would be the most effective tem, plates in there...

Painted Caves: Feel free to check it out solo preferrably on a melee char, just move slowly and no when to run back to the entrance if neccssary. Its a very small dungeon (all of them are actually...)

Twisted Weald: Not a great place for people with neg karma. As soon as you enter the Champ Spawn is right there and at the lowest level there are a ton of pixies with usually at least one paragon. Changelings are a pain in the arse for any template as they morph into you and will use your skills against you and you friends.

Sanctuary: I hate this place. Just rains death on you. If you need to get to the sanctuary elf town, use a stealther. Mostly repond spawn here, Orcs, Ogres, Titans, Ratmen, etc. I think there are a few succubi in there right by the town...maybe a few undead too, cant remember...

Labyrinth: Not too bad for any template until you get past Miasma a short way into the dungeon. Going past there I would recommend a fairly large party...say 8-10...to do any real damage. Not a heck of alot of reason to go past miasma unless your looking to tame a reptalon or want to try to summon Meraktus the champ in there. If the latter is your goal, bring more people...and insurance money.

blighted Grove: You could probably hang there and solo for a while but it wont be a walk in Despise. The Dryads will charm you and be very irritating. If Remove Curse works on getting rid of this, Id say bring a bunch of pallys, but Ive never tried it....

Prism of Light: I have only ever gone there a couple of times and never had very good luck with figuring it out. Ill let someone else chime in on that one...

Palace of Paroxymus: There are a few soloable areas in here, if memory serves. Might be the biggest dungeon out of the ML additions and isnt packed with baddies at every turn. I think that there are some areas that are very tough to get around without taking alot of damage from fumes or something. Been a long time since Ive been in there...

Citadel: Defintely my faovrite design out of all of them. I think that most of the inhabitants are "people" so Im guessing that bards are fairly useless in here. Other than that, I think most templates are viable...I think that they say Stealth Mages get the most out of this place though...

I think that thats all of them, no?

Re: So I just got ML...

WOW! That's a lot of really great advice. There are definitely a couple that I will check out alone, then maybe drag some guild members along for help.

Thanks sooo much!

Now at least I know better than to drag my necromancer through the Twisted Weald!

Re: So I just got ML...

Ezekiel,
would like to mention I go to every dungeon with my main char, a tamer, and do very well in all. It´s just a matter of knowing what (not) to do when you´re down there.

Citadel: Some of the ninjas are bardable (disco + peace is nice for them).

Prism: Wouldn´t recommend going alone. Usually you´ll die a ton till you figure out the dungeon... and with a ton I mean hundreds of times...
Basically you have a part of a dungeon, and a hole leading to the next part. In each part there are monsters and one type of monster has keys inside them (which look like shattered crystals and have a timer on them). Usually you just follow the way and you´ll see the hole, except for the last one, there you´ll have to know where to go since it´s one of those precast invis + run situations.

Palace of Paroxymus: The part with the "fumes" Ezekiel is remembering is in fact a river of acid (green, you can´t miss it). It goes through the whole dungoen and sort of leads you to the part where you hand in the keys. There are a couple parts you can run over (you´ll see rocks raging out of the river) and there are a lot of parts you can´t run over (since you die... and sometimes you´ll teleport when dying, so don´t worry, that´s completely normal).

Overall I´d say the peerless are group-oriented, while the keys can be done by a sole person (although that only really makes sense with keys for Melisande and Travesty, since they hold pretty long and are easily attainable) and you´ll die a lot till you figure it out, but after figuring it out and if you have a good group, they are a ton of fun.

Re: So I just got ML...

Sweet! Thanks...sounds like getting the hang of 'em is the first part I should learn. Do you use a cu-shide with your tamer or another beast?

Re: So I just got ML...

Yes, usually it´s a cu for the keys. You could also use a mare/rb combo or such for the Travesty keys and Bedlam, but it´s a lot easier to just use a cu and I really wouldn´t recommend playing around until you know what you´re doing, since the dungeons are like champ spawns: Tons of spawn which your pet could go on and run off in some weird direction and usually the pet is "lucky" and gets the tough ones all at once.
