Home Coming

It had been a long journey crossing the great void between Pacific Shard and Lake Austin Shard. Many years ago I had taken the same journey with many of the Fallen and ruled the shard under the iron grip of oppression. Now I return in peace and a desire to be amongst friends. I long for peace, but I haven't forgotten the ways of war, nor has my close friend Dip.

Skara Brae was a ghost town. No one walked the streets, but I could see many an eye watching from behind closed curtains. I continued to lead my beetle and packhorse along the narrow corridors and cobble stoned streets of Skara Brae. Their precious cargo safely secured inside their saddle bags. items meant for Eowyna, Dip and the others. The ferry operator was reluctant to allow me to cross, but a cold stare and a handful of gold quickly changed her mind.

Once across the river, it was a whole new land covered in snow. A beautiful sight to see and I enjoy it as I continued my journey. My only concern was being pelted with snowballs, but none came. Eventually I found our new home. A gorgeous estate, lavishly decorated but as always in my case, the place is locked and no one is answering the door.

Albert knocked lightly on the bedroom door. "Lady Eowyna, ummm... there's someone at the gate seeking admission."

"At this hour?" came the sleepy reply. "Tell them to return in the morning."

Albert hesitated. "But Madam, I do believe it's Maddux."

Eowyna's eyes flew open. Why, she wondered, did he always show up in the dead of night! "Albert, open the gates."

Finally the the great doors open, and I find myself inside. A lovely home inside as it is on the outside. I quickly unload the precious cargo from the overburden pack animals and lay them out across the bar top. Then I hand Eowyna her gifts. Small tokens that will hopefully make her life more comfortable out here on the frontier. Even here on Lake Austin, urgent matters call me else where and Eowyna would do me the favor of delivering these items to Cabe for distribution. Hope to see everyone around. *waves*
