I just started up my old account from 6 years ago(account active 13 months) and would like to work on a pvp mage. Eventually would like to get into a pvp guild or whatnot. The char I wanna work on has:

94 Magery
90.4 Eval Int
96.8 meditation
72.9 wrestling
70.7 animal taming
72.4 Veterinary
83.3 Animal Lore

What I'd like to know is what direction should i head in from here. Obviously I would need to drop all the taming stuff(how do the soulstones work?). The types of templates I've been looking at have been:

Archer/Mage - I think I like this one the best but really need some more info on it. Other than archery is there anything that is a must to go with it? I'd like to add healing if possible.(unless its !!!!ty now)

Mage/Necro - don't know much about the necro tho.

Pure Mage - Back when I use to play I know there was a pvp group around that ran pure mages with healing on them to bandage each other. It worked really good as I remember.

I dont know tons about playing mages, as I play dexers more than my mage, but I do know that an archer/mage does not work. You will have to balance out your dex and int and whatever one you focus on will kill the other. Archery you need high dex to be able to swing more than once a day, and int will need to be higher so you dont run out of mana halfway through a row of spells......
necro/mages are extremely boring to me. That was my first mage I ever made for pvp, and got bored with it real quick.

The basic mage is what I prefer. I have a scribe/mage w/spellweaving. With a basic mage you have the room to throw whatever you want onto the last few skill slots, wether it be wrestle/weapons/nox/spellweaving...

my necro mage is fun that i just made on europa...
skills arent done but i sure did kill someone 1v1... was a dexer with 4/6 chiv... he got pissed cause i blood oathed him and called it cheating... i laffed so hard... i disarmed him after then spammed poison/harm and kept disarming... then i casted corpse skin and spam fireball... he was way ez in 1v1 cause blood oath lol im still learning the necro mage tho...

Whats your template gonna be?

Since corpse skin lowers poison and fire resist would a poison on a mage/necro template work even better? I know it'd be hard to fit it but would it?

chances are you would have to drop your resist to fit it in, but its possible. your basic skills you need to have for it would be eval/mage/med/necro/ss(and you dont want to have them all at gm. Maybe necro/ss could work at gm) with resist/nox leftover you would have to try to balance it out, it could be tough. Alot of people say you dont need med, but with a very heavy mana dependant template like that, it would be ridiculous to not have it.

does it actually raise your poison strike(i think thats what its called) to do better poison?

Don't think it will. I know it helps with infectious strike (special move) and the both poison spells.

i dont use med on my necro mage well its at like 40... its one of the cheapest chars to make... if u have around 12 mil u can make a decent necro mage
