Hello all,

I used to play UO on Baja pre-trammel/insurance days, long long time ago. I've gotten the UO itch awhile back, started my character on Baja again and was horribly dissapointed with crap like Insurance and trammel...and quit soon after.

I heard Siege Perilous has the original rules still intact. Is that true? No insurance? No trammel? I can actually steal in town?

I miss my days as Drunken Hawaiian in our theives guild years ago..../sniff.

Also if I get back into UO when I get back from my deployment are there any mature theives guilds on Siege I could look into? Also does see-sawing still work? Such as capping skills and see-sawing 2 skills for stat gain?

I beleive arms lore and...crap dont remember the best for dex. OOo and what are good Siege Town Theif Templates?

See sawing skills for stats doesn't work anywhere anymore. SP truly has no trammel, no insurance.

Siege is like the original UO, squared. It is much more difficult than the old UO was, for several reasons, including:

-- Only one character per account on Siege.

-- Recall doesn't work on Siege. Gate does, but not in dungeons.

-- Prices are ten times higher than on production shards, and NPC's won't buy from you. Anything. At all. Items that never wear out on production shards, such as scissors and weapons, do so on Siege.

-- No item insurance, and very few blessed items. You can Siege Bless one item that you carry with you, and that is all.

-- Siege includes not on Felucca, but also Malas, Tokuno, and Ilshenar. All are on the Siege Perilous ruleset.


Having said all that, it can be fun to play there, although you don't see lots of people (lots of stealthers). And yah, if you long for the days of rampant PK and Thieving, Siege is the place for you. :grin:

What about theif templates?

Also I dont know if it's taboo to say another game's name around here but are any UO fans checking out Vanguard: Saga of Heros? Thoughts on that?

Also, this is NOT the UO you might remember. So very much has changed. Best bet is to do a lot of reading before ya get back! Once back in game, look to join the NEW guild. It's kind of a 30 day hands off guild, where most, not all SP players will cut you some slack.

Another question, I know there are a rediculous amounts of combinations of templates available for different play styles. Having said that can i get some input on what template you all are and why you enjoy playing it so much?

Having only 1 character is making me re-think my theif idea. When I was on Baja I had a dexer, mage and theif.

Best to head over to the PVP forum, after it is the bases of Siege. Persoanlly I play a Chiv/Archer...then again I die a lot so you might look for better help in that area! :shocked:
