Windows Vista - Are you going to buy it?

I don't think I will, least not for a while.

Nope.

I'm still hoping for a 95 comeback.

Re: Windows Vista - Are you going to buy it?

Absolutly! I have been running on the Beta/RC version for well over a month now and I love it. Yes it is a bit of perfomance hog but I really like the new look and feel. Its just a way more fluid UI then the past versions. I am very happy with it for what I do on my computer, but then again the only game I play on my computer in UO as I play most other games on console systems, so it may not be a very good comparison for most.

Re: Windows Vista - Are you going to buy it?

I might swap over to it as early as next summer, but I kinda doubt it. Itll depend on how much it is and any added benefits that I think would help me...

Same, i'm happy with XP, it runs, doesn't crash and does everything I need

But it's pretty lame that MS is making games that ONLY work on Vista

Like which games?

When I buy my new computer, it will probably come with Vista pre loaded and hopefully the new office Software.

Meh, they just want to push the new OS sp they can stop supporting older versions.

When you think about the fact taht so many people that own computers would be scared to death to upgrade their OS. Many people would sooner go out and buy a new computer before attempting something like that...

Im sure its not as bad as when XP came out; all the kids taht were 10 years old then are 15 now and quite a few can probably upgrade the parents computer if need be, but still, I know alot more people that would never buy an OS seperately from a PC than those that would...

You can have have Vista and Windows XP both installed and select which operating system you wish to have running.

Re: Windows Vista - Are you going to buy it?

Been playing with it quite a bit. It takes a bit of getting used to but it is actually a wonderful system, as is the new Office systems. I'll be in a Microsoft seminar tomorrow from 7am till 10pm for those new items.
I think the big things in Vista are security and control. You can actually set your users up to only use games by thier Rating (Teen, Mature, etc) Interesting stuff.
