Last night I was offered a significant amount of real life dollars ($200) for my main UO account, which holds Maddux and a few more infamous characters. Its a very well stocked account in scrolls, artifacts (real artifacts such as Orni's, not deco). Would you sell out?

i wouldn`t.....from what i`ve read about your chars and stuff it holds it is worth more than that.

Had to say maybe, as long as I could sell anything of worth before final transaction, or atleast transferred the stuff to another account.

But seeing as how most my valuable stuff came from Maddux, I'd just give it back to him and sell the account.

It all depends on how the game is doing, right now noone could offer me a price for my account. That can all change a few years from now though.

I have 3 older accounts 2 started in Oct 97 and another in May of 98. I might sell 2 of them, but I would never sell the Silverfoot account (NO, that's not the account name :haireyes: )
With that account it'll die when the servers die, which is when I would get rid of it

Besides that account has some kind of issues that EA so far hasn't been able to figure out. To quote Wilki and Greywolfe at seperate times "I've never seen an account like that", I said then leave it be I don't want to lose anything.
I'm unable to claim gifts with it, probably has to do with the account being connected as an official account back in the old MYUO days. *shrugs*

Maddux,

I am pretty new to these boards but you are one of the characters I recognize the most on here besides the fact, if memory serves me correctly I remember that name way back in my mining days as being one of the Reds that helped me GM the running skill.

My advice to you would be if you are ready to leave the game, take some time and put together a complete inventory of your characters and items and list the account on ebay. Tell your buyer thats where it will be and set the starting bid at $200.00. Who knows you might get more then you ever expected out of a legend account such as yours.

Heh, the real question is would you leave UO or start from scratch for 200 bucks?

It wouldnt be worth it to me. If I was ready to leave UO for good, thatd be another issue...

Starting from scratch is not a problem for myself and the amount of scrolls, tokens, and artifacts we currently have in inventory on my alternate accounts. The hardest part would be for me to watch someone play "Maddux" or any of my other infamous characters. Just the thought of someone making a nice guy out of them gives me the shivers.

Be careful if you decide to sell. My little sister was going to sell her Large Tower before housing became so available and some guy tried to dupe us. Thanks to AD we busted him. heeeeeeeeya!
