Ya need to be max 5-6 tiles away from the pillars
and the pillars are northwest of the ohpidan lair
The pillars have shattered crystals on the ground next to them and thats where ya know ya come to the right spot.

There is a bunch of blackrock elementals and ooze there but if you move with some thought you are pretty safe.
