When trying to get in touch with old friends from school or the neighborhood do you prefer Myspace or Facebook? I just joined Facebook hoping to find some old friends from highschool and it looks much more grown up then myspace. Seems like a better option then paying classmates.com $15 a month to e-mail old friends, who may or may not even check it.

This is the first time I heard of facebook. I used to have friendster before. The only thing I don't like about these sites is that the other people you want to connect with have to have accounts too. Not everyone likes making accounts.

My friends from school made a group email at yahoogroups (not sure what other group emails there are), so everytime someone emails, everyone gets it. Made it a lot easier to stay in touch.

I use MySpace. I haven't heard of the others. I really don't have it to reconnect with anyone though. Just everyone pressured me into getting one.


And I have been contacted by some old high school friends and sailors off my old ship.

There are few people I was really close with and just want to stalk them a bit

I stay away from those "Social Networking" sites. 90% of them are still passing bad code around that allow Malware and Adware to get into your PC. Sure, I'm techno saavy enough to keep my systems clear, but the normal person on the street isn't. Which just adds to the hassle of finding people.

Finding old friends or looking up old military contacts, I just use the phone book. If I can't find em, I try the normal gum-shoe methods and contact other people we knew or had as common friends alliance's.
