Todays Eddition is brought to you by the beautiful Polly Patterson
Bringing you news from the north!

The Search goes on..
For Chancellor Michael.
Yesterday multi-wife Duke Irvyn Middlethorn lead a group of Duchy guardsmen to a university in spiritwood to find clues to the disapperance of Chancellor Michael. On entering the university the party was charged by a demon which was stuck on the lower floor of the building. Raising their weapons the guardsmen present charged the demon so their precious Duke would go unharmed. Its unknown whether the demon was an experiment of Chancellor Michael's or it was placed there to purposely attack the Duke and his party.
The party searched the university and many letters and scrolls were found; according to a report done by John of the duchy "One of which was personal note from Mr. Michael. Apparently he had access to find ancient knowledge which could cause great harm."

According to my sources a book was found on the subject of witches, one which did dwell upon an icy island (remind you any anyone). It was decided that the witch lived in a place called 'The Hidey Hole' which to me sounds like a childs play place. Of course being the meddlesome Duke he is the Irvyn ordered them to find this witch and when they did apparently she was filling a pot with all kinds of tiddly poping things!

After a small donation of blood to the smelly old crone she told the party about a book that Michael was searching for before he disappeared. The book apparently is located underneath the dragons in the fire temple and the Duke will be leading a party for further investigation this friday.

(Thank you our witch for supplying these fantastic pictures.)

Rumours

Do we hear wedding bells a ringing? According to my sources a lemon loving Covian Dragoon is planning a wedding for himself and a certain red haired vixen that works behind Coves very own 'Green Goblin' tavern. Speaking of which has anyone else noticed the organization which Grief Dryth Gry is putting into the Goblin of recent, what is this bald menace up too?

denizens of darkness

unspeakable rituals

Editor,

I am distressed to encounter reporting from people who seem to be confusing the Shadow Court with, perhaps, a group of evil mages or an attacking army that has chosen to attack.

I refer to the description of the Court as denizens of darkness. Apart from grumpy Salazar, none of us are 'of darkness'. Perhaps the reporters concepts of Shadow are a bit negative? Just having the word Shadow in my groups name doesn't mean that we skulk, assassinate, or trouble the land. Remember - Shadow is made up of a good measure of darkness and light!

And then to go on about unspeakable rituals... Good grief - the only unspeakable ritual I've heard of in recent days is increasing the time-between-bathing for most residents of the land to 7 days instead of 14! I have not, to the best of my knowledge been involved in an unspeakable ritual, and I do not intend to start now.

Finally - Muldran Skull. I know I haven't been eating well recently, but I assure that my head is as fleshy as the next person's.

Yours in anticipation,

Muldran.

(Darling, your named The Shadow Court - Enough said - PP*)
To the Editor,

I was most vexed when reading a report in your publication about a recent lecture at Umbra university, to see members of the Shadow Court who attended being described as "denizens of darkness"

Nothing in fact could be further from the truth. Indeed we are those who choose to confront the Greater Darkness in all its many forms which threatens every one of us.

In a world where most people appear consumed with petty territorial squabbles and prejudices, the Court is in fact something of an oasis of toleration and enlightenment.

Mayhap one of your reporters should travel to Rhovanion to see what the Court truely represents in order to better report who and what we are.

Respectfully,

Gorthyn, Lord Cardinal of the Shadow Court.

Hot News!
Duke's expedition to Fire Temple a success.

Darlings, it's always nice when something goes to plan, and for Duke Irvyn, the expedition to the Fire Temple resulted in the old man collecting his missing book (the lengths some people go to in order to avoid Library fines astounds your prompt reporter). Of course, he was abley assisted by the elven group and the Knights Templar, as well as his own Duch Guards, and, yes he generally did just shout out support rather than wading in, but one has to be cultuered, now.

picture of expedition, courtsey of the witch

Unfortunately, the book is no use at all as a clue to the missing Chancellor’s whereabouts, being entirely blank with only a nasty greyish light on its pages. To anyone who has spend their time trawling the many books in this land, this could come as a bit of an upset.

A further consultation with the witch took place. Fortunately this time she did not ask for blood, but neither was she very helpful, only saying that Chancellor Michael already had details of a ceremony which could be performed to reveal the contents of the book. So it was back to Spiritwood University, where, after much searching by everyone, the noble Lord Taggart discovered the required volume describing the Azak-Vil ceremony. The ingredients required may prove somewhat difficult, being the hide of an ancient wyrm, as much blood as possible from blood elementals, phoenix feathers, and more blood (is this a vampire book?) from an elf. An attempt to get these various articles and perform the ceremony will be made on Sunday, and the Duke has asked for help again.

Trinsic Archery Competition Results
A notice from Kaelyn of the Duchy Guards

The full results are now out - with Vanessa winning the first prize of a special engraved bow and 10,000 gold.

Also, congratulations to Talon, who had the least difference of told and shot score, and won a special engraved bow and 5,000 gold.

Good luck next time to the others and Esmeralda who won a special engraved bow and some arrows to train, so she might win next time.

See you at the next competition!

Local Round-up
Rhovanion

Seems busy in the snowy valley, with old Knight Errant (Erratic?) Gorthyn summoning people long since departed from the lands, and setting up something he refers to as the Shadow Order.

In other news, it seems that Muldran Skully has regained his lost 'Elemental Stones' and has begun pestering people about ritual magic once more.

Trinsic

Several incidents have taken place on the outskirts of the city, with shadowy figures watching both gates to the Sandstone City. Although no violence has befallen anyone (yet!) who are these mysterious figures, and what do they want?

Tokuno Islands

The Empress of these distant Islands has asked for the assistance of the people in gathering her lost treasures. It is rumoured that this action has come about due to amounts of blackrock being washed up on the beaches of the Islands - and quickly being snapped up by the wildlife.

**Rushed to you by the Hooded Claw - Reporting From Where Others Fear to Tread**

News from Yew

The Doubles Tournament held in Yew was won by Captain Bladius Dart, and D'Gar Guard Gotrek. Second place were two strangers called Bill and Bull - though they were found to be using strangely crafted weapons. Once they were taken from them and replaced with ordinary ones, they lost quite quickly. Paladin Pierre from Trinsic did really well, teamed up with a Marksman from the Militia. Had all sorts of people there. Even elves! And some horrid magic users! They were lucky not to be burnt at the stake.

-comment- News from Yew about rumours of an increase in Orcish activity have been strenuously denied by the citizenry of Yew in recent developments. The smell of roasting flesh has been drifting across the highways from the Orc fort – lets hope it isn’t of the human variety.

Vesper Viewpoint

A couple of weeks ago, Vesper agreed a cease-fire with the Loyalists until peace talks had been settled. The terms of peace were simply that Vesper wouldn't take force against the Loyalists, and the Loyalists will leave Vesper alone and stay out of it (pretty reasonable) then two days later, Vesper attacked the Loyalists in Cove, in a battle that had nothing to do with them. And again recently they took to attacking the loyalists in Minoc - showing how unreasonable Vesper are.

So peace talks are well and truly off.

-comment- has Twothumb and his strange wife really fallen under the spell of the so-called Hedge Witch of Vesper? Or is the greedy grasping dictator just after more gold mines and more peasants to subjugate?

BlackRock News and Explorer’s Corner

Some Scholars of the Duchy of Trinsic have been investigating the links between the Falling Stars, the Rifts and the associated BlackRock. They sought out Lady Cherry of the ShadowCourt and her husband Decardo Imier to aid in their adventure and quest for knowledge.

Recent rumours connecting the Void Shadow, Saktoth’s Dark Arts and the recent Blackrock rain have yet to be established as fact. I have noticed on my travels that many have been off into the wilds of Tokuno seeking the remains of the washed up treasures. Rumour has it that small fragments of Blackrock can be found over there.

Let us hope that none are planning on using the Blackrock for their nefarious arts.

Trinsic Loses a Chancellor

So whilst a few have been delving into the matter of the Rifts, it seems the Duke of Trinsic’s party have been off on some adventures of their own the folk are saying its something to do with one of their Chancellors. All this reporter knows is some came back a bit burned.

Brigands on the Increase – Jhelom a Ghost Town – is there a connection?

It seems that the recently busy Jhelom town has lost many of its fine guardsmen and women and that even the street gangs of that happy place have deserted its shores. Meanwhile rumour has it that old Hammerhead himself – Henry Winter – has been seen lurking and looks like his old band of less-than-merry men are on the prowl. Is there any connection between the return of Henry Winter and the disappearance of Karl Altdorf? Maybe Henry has him kidnapped somewhere and is awaiting payment…

More Brigand News

The Might Raul – once the scourge of the highways – has been mentioned amongst the criminal classes of Trinsic and Vesper as “moving back” into his normal routine of mugging, larceny and intimidation. Well maybe someone can hire him to give Henry Winter a good beating.

New Paws

Some comings and goings in the area of New Paws would suggest the rise and rise of this small but exclusive community. Rumours of large gold and diamond mines in the area are also denied by local residents.

Trinsic Rose

Commander Cal Soulshadow and “consort” Kai were seen together in the Trinsic Rose last night – ballsy Cal and man mountain Kai were spotted with Callum Fitzhugh discussing erotic books. It seems Kai sees a bowl of water as the best thing to make his loins move. [Whatever turns you on I suppose] Cal seems to be recovering well from another wound – her body must look like a patchwork quilt under her sexy armour. Kai meanwhile seems like a blank canvas – or at least seems like a blank to this author.

Callum was there investigating the “sleeping” Lady VanQa and came up with a few ideas and notions and offered his aid. More news on Sleeping Beauty VanQa as it arrives from Eska Eledie!

Muldran Skully and Alynora – new love item?

Has green-haired bachelor Muldran finally fallen in love? Winsome Alynora would make a fine catch for the hapless wizard of Rhovanion but Muldran, all fingers and thumbs at the best of times, would he know where to put himself in sultry temptress Alynora’s arms?

This budget edition of the ‘Morning’ Poste was almost brought to you tomorrow. Helen Hearsay is responsible for today’s verbal atrocity.

Capital Street Cleaners Get a Rise!
Sweeping up Rebel hordes is such a daunting task, after all…

Yesterday it emerged that a band of fearsome warriors hailing from the scum-ridden lands of Vesper and Haven marched foolishly into our capital city of Britain. Breaking the mould from the usual bunch of jovial jesters that habitually inhabit the bank area, the intruders were soon singled out and battered senseless. Three cheers for our brave boys from Yew!

Neither the victors nor the fleeing Rebels were available for comment. The Loyalist lovelies appeared to be deep in celebration and ale, as they should. The Rebels were...well… revolting. Professional journalism is a wonderful thing, but – dear readers - it should not come at the cost of my poor little nose. As it was I had to rub myself down with herbal essences (comes in a cream now!) and apply ludicrous amounts of cucumber to my eyes before I could safely say that I was civilised again.

Where was I? Ah yes, the battle. Particularly moody readers have been telling me I’m rubbish at telling the nitty-gritty of gruesome encounters, but it is a terrible thing, getting someone else to sit on the sidelines and write a vomit-covered report about the bludgeoning and battering that I hear goes on in such shenanigans. I’m sure, all things considered; you’d all love to look at my beautiful flowery language about shoes. Agree? Tell me so! Disagree? Shove off!

Bringing you news from the north!

Undead Activity increasing
Whatever are we to do?!

My dear readers the title of this article is indeed true. The undead which dwell within Yew crypts have pushed aside their coffins and sharpened their blades and are back in action, live and kicking (well.. not really).
Not only has undead activity increased in Yew but in Cove as well as several shrines containing mass amounts of gore have been dotted around the moongates and towns. Thank fully my dear readers I, Polly Patterson, are safe within the comfort of my office but I suggest everyone goes home and locks their doors as the undead are BACK and not just for Halloween.

----------------------------------------------

Rumours

According to my sources hunter Larten of Cove and Hoagie or rather 'Mr Lemons' were seem having a man to man brawl yesterday which involved grabbing each others goolies until their cried - Strange men.

A mysterious love bug hit Cove recently and even rough and tough Covian drow Veldrin Ni'Harel was seen confessing her love and asking The Baron's hand in marriage - Shocking!

And they just wont stop will they? A new loyalist force from the north seems to be stirring up.

Furry Fiends Flout Feeble Flaws in Foundations!
Headline causes thousands to be covered in spit.

Your intrepid reporter doesn't have much admiration for rats and mice. Nasty little bug... creatures, always carrying plague, causing problems, getting just where you don't want them to... But even more disturbing when the law of the land makes it all right to call a general disaster meeting for a little bit of pest control?

Yes, it seems Commander Jurrel can't take care of a few rats... which normally cause some problems, but for the happy end to the tale. For the past few years, debate has raged (no, honestly, it has) that the author of 'My Story' was, in fact, Lady Caroline Middlethorne, writing under the pseudonym Sherry the Mouse. But it seems that Sherry is, in fact, real and has returned to Castle British, where she is currently answering many questions, and sampling much cheese.

A weakness in the Castle foundations caused the flood of rats, which has since been taken care of; but Sherry is mentioning an old castle built underneath the current one, and hints that there are other things moving below... Your muriphobic reporter won't be queueing for an interview.

Hooded Claw bringing you Part One - A Rat's Tale - not to be Trifled With [work that one out...].

There’s a Rat in the Castle what am we gonna do?

I was going to castle britain today for my usual visit to sherry the mouse, when I noticed, in the kitchen the commander of the royal guard, lord Jurrel. he was inquiring people on what they discovered from sherry, he seemed to be very interested in knowing how to access the castle sewers.
Wishing to help I spoke about what I found out from sherry. Sherry spoke about several passages that interwines with the castle swears that are not accessible by people (because too big)

Also, sherry spoke misterous words that interested the Lord Commander: the words was 'Nitters Fiblik' we either hypotized it was a sort of anagram, or (I think at least) hypotized could be the name of a rat-man since it sounded quite similar.

I did investigate recently the castle finding several mouse holes, I could squeeze in each one (in rat form of course) apart one, at the second floor of castle british, left wing, over the throne room, there is a small mouse hole that supposedly takes behind the throne room, the Lord commander seemed rather interested in it, and wondered how to make the hole a bit larger.

Also we showed the Lord commander another mouse hole, just near the red curtain still to the left side of the throne room. sadly that one, could not be accessed by us, as the throne room is protected by a magical field, that allows to pass only members of the council. The Lord Commander tho said will consult the mage who set up the field to see what can be done.

Finally the Lord Commander suggested to search in depth the castle british for other clues, as well as speak more with Sherry the mouse to try to get more information for possible passage to the sewer of the castle.

Then he took us to a special chamber where those present was invested with the great honor of become a member of the royal guard. He also told us to contact him again checking for him either at castle british (since, from the latest happenings, he would have been there often) or to seek him at his offices in minoc town hall, just west of the statues.

He also did recomend to go seek the representation of 'my book' of sherry the mouse at spiritwood, saying that before, it was considered a fictionary book, but now, being sherry real, the book could be real as well and could give important clues to everyone about the current situation.
for those who missed it, I recommend to read a copy of 'my book' of sherry the mouse, you can find it in several bookshelves in castle britain or also in the britain public library.

my grateful thanks to Ravida!

Rat Trap! And you been caught …

Right - the fair lady Abhorsen was completing quests in Britain last night, and crept into the castle as she saw people streaming around the place. She handed me a transcript of what she heard, so I've kept the words from Jordan, Clainin and Sherry, and filled in the blanks from the directions she gave me.

Abhorsen apologies if she missed some things. Apparently, she was trying to kill rats as well...

Jordan Jurrel: Well, Clainin's got to work... Have you people been helping out here?
So... What exactly has been happening here?
Ashe Darkblade: rats!!
Deacon Blue: rats
Lucky: RATS
Abhorsen: Unclean things.
Treval: They're pesky little things, but we're despatching them
Clainin: Everyone, we must somehow push back this vermin menace!

Jordan Jurrel: Might be worthwhile having a look around the castle. *nods*
Seeing if any holes have let the creatures in.

Chimera: they came from mouse holes
Jordan Jurrel: Have you seen some mouse holes, Chimera?
Quick Brown Fox: I found lots of holes Jordan
Ultima Online: i have squeezed through them
Deacon Blue: there is mouse holes all over
Jordan Jurrel: Where are these mouse holes?
Jordan Jurrel: Show me...
Quick Brown Fox: LBs bedroonm is one
Jordan Jurrel: I'll follow you.

(People followed Jordan out of the throne room. More rats appeared in the throne room, and Abhorsen and others started killing them. After a few minutes, a large crowd came back, as more rats appeared.)

Jordan Jurrel: Clainin! What is it with these rats?

(Another wave of rats swept the room)

Clainin: Thou shouldst not have messed with me!
They're everywhere! Stand back! I'm going to try to burn them all out!

(A mouse crawled out from under the throne and pushed pass Jordan)

Jordan Jurrel: *jumps*
Sherry: What are you doing to my home!?
Jordan Jurrel: I...
Sherry: *SQUEEEEAAAKK!!!*

(Great flames seemed to sweap across the room... and the rats were gone. That was one loud squeak.)

Jordan Jurrel: Ah...That is...Who... Who are you?

Sherry: Well, that seems to have done it at least

Sherry: Oh, Hi! I'm Sherry! I live here. Who're you?
Clainin: Sherry? Sherry! I am Clainin, but I thought thou had... How extraordinary!
Clainin: Wilt thou come with me? I must introduce you to the Royal Council
Sherry: *squeak* Of course!
Clainin: Excuse us everyone, I will leave the remainder to ye

(Clainin casts a spell, and both vanish, leaving Jordan and a room full of the Guard behind)

Jordan Jurrel: *blinks* A... talking mouse...
Sherry seems to have scared off the rest of the rats.
If you search around and clean up the last stragglers... I'm certain we've seen the last of them.
Seems that people have been finding a few odd coins here and there...
Those rats must have got into the old storage vaults.
Thank you for that impromptu bit of pest control, my friends.
We should look out for Sherry returning to speak with us, once Clainin has introduced her to the Ruling Council. I'm certain she'll have much to say...

...and then there is now a randomly appearing Sherry. I'm packing up some cheese, and going to have a word with her later.

Magical mice? That's something I could steal away and place in my reliquary... Who needs these tokuno items when I could have a talking mouse...

---- Thats All for Part One of today's Bumper Edition - no mention of Rats or poor puns on Page Three!

New Loyalist Force

A special report by Polly Patterson

This just in Lady's and Gents! Late last evening the bells of Cove chimed and steel met steel as they were attacked by a small group claiming to be called The Southern Loyalist Front. Lead by Aaron Charad a blacksmith from Cove it was apparent that the small force was a group of simple townsfolk.

Aaron Charad meets some Covian Soldiers

According to my sources the Citizen's of Cove are being treated poorly by the Army and everyday at least ONE full-family dies of starvation because they failed to pay them for their hard work.

Aaron explains why hes here!

The fight was quick and the new loyalist force 'The Southern Loyalist Front' came out successful in the fight. It was unfortunate however that a blind barmaid named Tsugi stumbled from her hole and they chased her away with their weapons held high!

I, Lady's and gents, your reporter Polly Patterson was shocked to see the Citizens of Cove becoming corrupt by the loyalists. It is sad that I was too afraid of loosing my life to stop and interview Aaron Charad.

Vesper Tournament Latest News

Word on the [dirty] streets of Vesper is that the skirt-wearing forces of Kaldor, Vesper and Cove [what is it with all those armies and skirts?] met up to participate in a Tournament of Arms. [Hopefully not too much of a windy day!]

It was won by Elliot of the Knights Hospitaller who was not only the most accomplished fighter but also chose to keep an eye out for any unfortunate gusts of wind coming from TwoThumbs direction.

Well done Elliot!

Trembling earth related to newly discovered chasm in Umbra?

Following up on our previous reports about intense earthquakes in Umbra new reports have reached us that a large gaping chasm has been found, located just next to the Umbra University buildings. Quite contrary to the geography of Malas, this crack in the surface of the continent does not open into the sickening void but appears instead to be filled with a wavering green mist evaporating from the stones. The depth can therefore only be guessed. Even more curiously, enclosing the chasm a shrine seems to have been erected with focuses on a featureless green statue. None of the Elders were available for questioning.

Rumours from around the city however had it that the earthquakes have been caused by the Necromancers themselves. Some even see a connection to the recent rifts and the discussions on blackrock at the University. So is this unsettling place the result of some sort of experiment, a hint of some sort of rift like the ones found elsewhere or something completely different?

We know one thing for sure: we will keep you informed!

Dorian Abronsius, travelling reporter.

Desperatley Seeking Seer?

We seek the services of a seer or fortuneteller in the hunt for our friend Miss Fenella of the Knights Hospitallers, niece of Lord Xentrix, who has been missing for some weeks. We are in possession of a piece of her clothing, which may be useful in the process.

Any person who can use the magic arts to help in the search should contact Mrs Cerys Slowtree.
Thank you.

Serf’s Up?

I have heard a rumour that Nian Cethlin has been seen around and would like to get in touch with her. Nian, if you read this, can you drop a note in my house, Ye Olde Poste Office, or come to The Trinsic Rose between 7 and 8 pm Mondays or Fridays?

Today's Poste is brought to you by Gretcha Gossip

------------

Looking for love!
Single man in need of affection..

To my surprise my personal mail box had a letter in this morning (not that I don't get letters..)
The contents of which read:

Now, being a single woman myself I was quite entrigued by this letter, which also turned out to be adressed to the poste office and merely slipped into the wrong box.. I decided to do some research on this gentleman!
I travelled to the mailing address and managed to track him down.

After some discussion, it became apparent this man definately was an very eligible bachelor. So I've decided to help him in his quest to meet a lady.

I know there are many single women out there dying to meet the man of their dreams, and this is their chance.
I won't give away where he is from, or his name, but I will say this; The gentleman seems to be fairly genuine. He is tall, has dark skin, deep emerald eyes. He's in his twenties, has a decent job, and earns a very decent wage. He's also generous with his money (not that it matters.... of course.. )
He's good with animals, well educated.. and definately a catch for any lonely women.

So, if you're interested in meeting this man, please send a letter to me (Gretcha Gossip) and I'll arrange a meeting between you. The evening will be paid for by him and at a place of your choice.
You'll also get your fifteen minutes of fame, as any woman who replies to his advert will not only have the pleasure of a date with him, they'll receive a personal one on one interview with me, Gretcha Gossip.

Again, if you're interested, please send me your contact details.

[OOC:This is supposed to be for some fun, think of it as a blind date. If you want to take part please send a PM to Ye Morning Poste with your contact details, ta!/OOC]

Rumours

From an un-named informant
Rumours have been coming in that the drow known as Vierna was spotted yesterday eve hanging around near the mountains between Skara Brae and Yew, (the territory of Brigands of the Fort), along with the Trinsic Rogue (Tom Blackwood). They seemed to be holding some kind of meeting with that scum Henry Winter, said our informer, though what was actually being said could not be heard. What does this mean? Will there be some kind of new crime wave involving more than one criminal organisation, only time will tell..

Repulsive rebels attack farmers!
Then lie to cover their behinds..

Reading through the Covians 'story' it seemed a little fishy, so I sent Jack Bing in to investigate! The real version of events lies below.

Yesterday evening the Covian rebels stooped to a new low. Being hard pressed on all fronts and in desperate need of supplies they have started to rob and steal from their very peasentry and even their allies. The first incident was brought to us by the "Southern Liberation Front", a group of Covian peasents who have been attacking their own town guardsmen. Having taken their virtual enslavement for so long they have now risen and struck back at their oppressors. Armed only with the tools of their various trades the people of Cove have crippled various parts of the Covians military and economy.

The second incident was a lot more sinister. Some of the Covians had stripped the clothes from the handful of dead SLF they had managed to slaughter, donning their disguises they waited on the road between Vesper and Minoc, awaiting their victims. Eventually a small group of Vesperian farmers came into view, leading their packhorses towards Minoc in order to sell their crops at market. The disgusied Covians then halted the farmers, blocking their path. When they believed the farmers were thoroughly distracted a large unit of Covian guardsmen hurtled from either side of the road, descending on the poor group of farmers.

However the farmers weren't taking it lying down. Forming up in a tight group around the goods they had worked so hard to grow they set their pitchforks and shovels and laid into the murderous rebels. The Yewish Guardsmen had gotten wind of the ambush, marching on the double to try and save the farmers lives, however they weren't quite fast enough, arriving as the fight was finishing, but they descended on the remaining Covians like a storm.

Most of the farmers survived and gave the covians a good kicking! What new low will the Covians reach? Attacking their allies and peasentry? Will they field child soldiers perhaps? Or maybe threaten to kill the families of those that do not fight? Or perhaps they will shoot their own men as they flee from combat.

Thank you Jack - G.G

Rescue Attempt Gone Wrong!
Failed rescue attempt resulting in major bloodbath
- Sent in from an unknown source

VALORIA, October 19: Valorian Mayoress Kidnapped - failed Rescue Attempt resulting in major bloodbath.

On October 10th several Kidnappers abducted the Mayoress, Lady Tussi de Luxe (32), on her way home from the Sword & Shovel Tavern.

A ransom note was posted in serveral public places, demanding 50,000 goldcoins and 100 valorite ingots as ransom.

Yesterday night, a rescue team of brave Valorians and Associates travelled to the Brigands Fort to pay the demanded ransom.

After tenacious negotiations about the release, mayhem ensued with the cause unknown. A valorian citizen reported that the leader of the rescue team refused to hand the ransom over to the kidnappers: "Aye, it was pretty obvious that the kidnappers were not going to play games. That Lady was tied tightly to a tree and the one who shouted orders had his axe disturbingly close to her."
After arguing for some time whether the ransom or Lady Tussi is to be handed over first, the kidnappers lost their patience and put that axe to use.

The following battle, brief but nontheless brutal, resulted in several badly wounded people - including two kidnappers and their hostage.

The former hostage, relieved to be alive, was carried back to her House and is still recuperating from the ordeal. Meanwhile the temper of the Valorian people is very agitated - the cries for revenge are getting louder, demanding posting a bounty for the vile brigands. It is the hope of the Valorian Citizens that the Mayoress will be able to give a full description of her terrible ordeal and the evil perpetrators to bring them to justice.

Undead Attack!
Seems noones safe from the walking dead..

With reports of undead swarming around the lands of Sosaria it was no surprise when I heard news of yet another attack, this time in Yew.

The walking dead rampaged through the town, tearing apart all that crossed their path, before launching an attack on Stonekeep. The Guards there reported that the attacks had become more frequent of late, and that the undead force is rapidly growing.

Theres been many stories of people passing by or through the crypts to give their respect to deceased loved ones and coming out in a rather different form to that they went in. Death tolls seem to be rising rapidly, and many that have passed seem to be walking around again..

Where are they all coming from, what exactly is the cause of them all rising again? Noone knows.. but I suspect it's something big.

One things for sure..
If you go down to the woods today... avoid the crypts at all costs.

Kicking Kaldorians!
The Kings' Land!

News received from reporter Tina Tattle in Serpants Hold

Yesterday evening a campaign began to regain the Island of Serpent's hold. The Royal Marksman Regiment under the Command of Captain Devante Stirling and The Britannia Guard under the command of Captain Esmeralda took control of the Garrison on the Eastern shore of the North Island.

Soldiers and Wytches of the Khaldorian army attempted to expel the Loyalist forces on no less than two occasions, but the position was bravely held by The Royal Marksmen and Britannian Guard. The Rebels realising the day was lost retreated, intelligence suggests they now occupy the area around the docks.

Loyalist soldiers are now 'dug in' at the Garrison and in the coming days will rally thier forces and attempt to regain once loyalist land from the clutches of the evil Rebels.

Well done to our brave Lad's (and lasses); Food aid and weapons are currently being assembled ready for shipment to Serpent's Hold once the dock area has been secured. Any letter's of support for our brave soldiers will be gratefully received.

For King and Country!
Long live the King!

Rumours

Suspected Assasins - Written by Tina Tattle
Two suspicious characters were seen lurking around Stonekeep last night. One of them is a self confessed assassin! The Guardsmen questioned them at some length, and came to the conclusion that they were likely there on 'business'.

After no more ado, two of the Guardsmen attempted to arrest the assassin and her accomplice, a chase ensued and the Footmen successfully repelled the any possible trouble. So loyal are the Guardsmen they even chased one of the suspects halfway accross Sosaria.

Rumour's abound that the intended victim may have been none other than Klion D'Gar!
