Ok i have a silly question...How in the Heck do u start a new char in another Shard lol..I know how to make a char i mean Gosh It feels like im a real newbie again...My account is 6 months old..But when I made a char on another shard I ran around the woods not knowing where I was not haveing any means to get anyhwere I FELT LIKE A LOST DUCKLING LOL....felt like I was lost and all alone lol .... But I do want to broden my horizons and have familys on another shard ...To be able to build another house eventiually and make some other friends to quest with and be in a guild on another Shard...Any ideas or Pointers on how to make this feel like im not running scarde and lost and alone ???

When you first start the game up, choose which shard you want to make your char on. Set up your char, or choose one of the pre-made ones. Then when you enter in game, just get your bearings, and ICQ your friends to come and get you. If you are starting fresh, just do like on any other shard... train up a bit, find some decent vendors, and say hello to a few people.

I do this a lot, and have it down to a science, almost. Here's what I do:

1. Start a Paladin using the pre-made template.

2. accept the new player paladin quest, BUT:

3. Make trips to Heartwood (via moongate) and Swoops (via moongate) to upgrade weapons and armor via litterpicking. I then go back to Haven and finish the quest.

4. Start a custom template Mage with 50 Magery/50 Eval. This character will also go to Heartwood and Swoops to litterpick better gear. Ideally, I stay at Swoops until I have a 100 lrc suit (it's far easier than it used to be, believe me), then I find a quiet place and work Magery until I can reliably cast Mark. The mage will provide runebooks for the rest of the characters, usually a bank runebook for each character, and make custom runes as necessary.

5. A pre-made template Smith is a good third choice, although you can get away with buying Repair Deeds until the smith is good enough to reliably repair.


There. Three members of your family already, leaving two (or three) to play with. :grin:
