MSN Messenger

Might want to stay away from the MSN messenger for a while if you use it. There is a virus going thru the thing. My kid had to do a virus removal and reboot and such, and thank heavens for the firewall and anti-virus. Her friend didn't have a firewall on, and it wiped all the files from the kid's computer, including windows. Blech.

Just make sure nnot to click any links you might get, no matter who they are from.

Download Trillian, it is open source, has no attached spyware, and you can log in MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ and AIM on it simultaneously, so fewer resources used.

No ad's, spyware or any crap

yeah every messenger gets it's own virus from time to time, Yahoo had one about a year ago that was killer, AIM just recently is getting over one, so it's only a matter of time b4 the others get hit.

Trillion is definately a nice way to keep up with folks using different services.

YEPPER TRILLIAN ALL THE WAY and pssst .. the basic program is free or you can upgrade for only $25 a year
(but again no need to upgrade unless your really into all the whistles and stuff)

Trillian is great. It's the only messanger I ever used. My daughter won't give up on MSN messanger and her computer always runs like crap! I told her she is going to have to learn how to clean up the spyware herself because I'm tired of cleaning up the mess she wouldn't get if she used Trillian!

I completely prefer it. Only one small interface for all the systems, and it's easy to use. I have used it three years now and when my son keeps asking why I use it instead of just MSN.... MSN is big an clunky and loaded with junk I don't want.. that's why!!
