i claimed a ki-rin mount from his acct and gave it to my new account buuut,
i can't use it cuz my acct is not 48 months old grrr
so anyways, do the eth horses work the same way? he still has 1 more reward i could claim
or would ppl be willin to trade a horse for a ki-rin?

Yes, the horses work the same. Depending on which year reward you pick, you can only ride it after so many months.

The only ethy type (although it's not ethereal, it works the same) that can be used by newer accounts is the Charger of the Fallen.

Also, you may want to check with your friend bout those rewards. Im hoping he wasnt saving them for a couple 5 year picks...

All the vet rewards are acct-age dependent. If memory serves, Leather De Tubs are a 2nd year choice, so no matter who claimed them when, they are not usable by an account that has less than 2 years logged on it.

Just save it, or trade it for a 3 yr. I prefer Llamas or Ostards anyways. You will want them when the time comes, and when that time does come, they will be expensive. I came across a deal where I had gotten 10 ethys, and sold them when they were worth 800k-1m and now they are goin for roughly 2.5, and now I am old enough to ride them(I wasnt at that time) I wish I would have kept them, cause I did alot of trading to get 5 chars to be able to have 2 ethys on them.

There are also the peerless drop "summon" mounts. I think those can be ridden by anyone but I'm not entirely sure if they work like an ethy and go back into your pack upon dismounting or not.

But yeah, the charger of the fallen will work.
