| Blackrock...
source taken from UO.UHall About Blackrock... Draconi UO Designer Blackrock
Blackrock is one of the most dangerous naturally occuring substances known to Britannia. Its capability to block and channel the ether is poorly documented, yet known, as are its unstable properties. Many lives have been lost already in events surrounding this terrible material.
There are no guarantees for this substance. It could explode, disappear, multiply, shrink, increase, become permeable, or tear holes in the very fabric of reality at any time, with or without any provocation. Or, it may just sit nicely on your shelf, inert. We don't know. We can't promise anything.
Be wary.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nice.I can't wait to hear reports about the first black-rock related fatalities.
..."Sweet, I just paid like 10 mil for a peice of this nifty rare blackrock! I think il resell it on my vendor for 20 mil! bwhahahahaha" -Player
...*blackrock explodes, annhialating vendor and contents, destroying house and contents, killing char and vaporizing all worn gear.*
...*laughs* -Me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I almost spit water on my monitor at that.
Now to check to see which of my friends got that nasty rock
so I can tell them I have a contagious disease and no I am
not interested in seeing what they got.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...
Wish I had one... just because... but since I didn't make the boss fight and don't have the funds to buy one from a price gou... I mean merchant... I guess I'll just have to hope that noone around has one go bad on them.
I just hope the so-called mages figure out something to do with them before the worst comes to pass.
They were hard enough to get when the FoA/ZC were after them the first time... now there's a lot of the pieces floating around, however small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If my piece of blackrock starts glowing, I'm running for the hills Draconi UO Designer Advisable. |

Since Blackrock should be able to block the flow of ether, wouldn't armor made out of it be impervious to spells?
Also, if enough pieces were brought together, maybe we could construct the Black Gate and have a whole lot of dimensional foolery with all the funky critters living in the void and other dimensions! Now wouldn't that be nice.
Ah well, I don't have any blackrock anyway so whatever.

I have 1 piece, and will not part ways with it. I want to see what will happen in the future. I may keep it on a char I dont care much about, just incase something happens where stuff blows up and I lose everything.... hehe.. The guy in my guild who got the 40 pieces, was nice enough to give me a piece of the blackrock.. I dont plan on selling it, and if I did whats the point. I have more money than I know what to do with, so why do I need another 10-15m?

I would love to own a pice but sadly dont have the gold to buy.
Check out the source thread on BLack rock and see how one player LOST 3 pieces and poor Hemi tried to auction a piece.
On source thread one player after reading of Hemi's misadventure comments ;- I hope that is something that happens with all blackrock and it wasn't just an irked dev getting some revenge. Although it did happen on Europa... was this purely RP?
I was actually at that auction, and it was SO funny *grins* I love spontaneous roleplay,and had just left a group of us who were actually roleplaying out another spontaneous scenario about the rock. Draconi UO Designer
Sorry to disappoint, but yeah, there weren't any developers involved. Anything we do for blackrock will be done for/to everyone
P.S. Well done! I've had a lot of people ask me if this was for real or not; how can it not be real? It happened. It's just not something we were responsible for. I gotta admit, the OP had me fooled with his screenshots and story. It really did seem like a GM (under Draconi's direction) decide to make an example of a player. Very nicely RP'ed.
That being said... I don't see anything wrong with that sortof thing actually going on. I think it would add more "danger" and "mystique" to the blackrock. Tabbitha

Its great when we can use a dev plot like Inu and utilise it to include people fro all over the shard

Those that have the blackrock will be transformed to the new race when it goes live.
**Disclaimer: I am starting a rumor.**
