| So now the Invasion is thwarted..........
We all know there are the shards who managed to ,and those that didnt,so .....
a few would like to know [myself included] whats this 'effect' we were told about between shards? You couldnt call Guards with an effect. Basically guard zones were disrupted so there wasnt protection in cities. I want to know though why the shards who beat the invasion arent recieving special notice and those who failed to even do anything are not recieving negative effects.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Other news indicates that a special gathering of mages from Wind has managed to restore teleportation and protection spells "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They did? Well thats news to me! I hope the Council haven't paid up front for this contract!
Additional doubt was cast upon this claim when it was reported that a mage heralding from Wind was heard to say "Hey by gum, taint tit big out here."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The sad part is that it was as many of us suspected.
We had very little to do with the outcome , it was just something to keep us occupied , and when they decided it was time.. they turned off the spawn.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Draconi UO Designer Actually, no, you've had everything to do with the outcome.
These stories reflect current events - the people have pushed the invasion back themselves. Areas where the Ophidians still hold territory will remain occupied until *you* push them back.
Certainly we've made changes to the invasion as it's gone on, it's gotten stronger, and now it's getting weaker. This is a reflection of the success of the shards to pull together both militarily and strategically (Actual fighting, and gathering the materials for the Zenith Scion). But we haven't thrown a switch to turn off the invasion - it's still very much active.
What this really means is that we're preparing to give you the hint to finally find out the source of all this, so you can stop it yourselves. Or not...

It's not over yet:cheesy:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Then how come fel is then free'd since we didnt free any of those towns?
I also dislike that there have been next to NO way to find info about anything in game about this.
You have to read it on the boards from posts of Devs to learn how to fight back the spawn etc, and not everyone reads boards and thus gets left out.
I like the invasion idea, just not all the aspects of it that makes very little sense.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just wanted to say thankyou for giving us something that allowed such a larg group of players to fight together, with a good story behind it. Lets face it alot of people have been screaming out that they cannot be bothered with the puzzels and give us something to hit, this should have satisfied their desire. It also got the attention of those who were totally unaware of things happening. I also feel the duration of this event was spot on, keep up the great work. |

Wonder what will happen if you let it run loose.

That was the plan from the beginning.

Yeah, maybe next time they'll let our characters do more investigating instead of each player.
It shouldn't be entirely too hard to have EMs monitor their shards, find fairly frequented spots and drop hints/clues for players. This would make each shard vary so not everyone will run to X to find Y, and go kill/rescue/obtain Z, the storylines can be the same though.

Could easily utilize in-game messageboards at appropriate locations in towns, like banks or councillors' halls or something. Also the twon criers should be used exactly for this sort of thing, to spread news of what's happening - not just repeat the old stuff we've already done.
To reach every single player, we could even get an in-game message upon login, similar to the vet rewards gump, containing latest news. Call it an in-game newspaper or something for an excuse to learn all the info
Yeah the patch screen usually contains links to the latest news articles but it's just not the same as getting an actual in-game gump with the information in it.

I agree totally,especially the town criers.They are so not used for what I imagine them to be there for.
They should be walking around towns shouting out events such as this.
A message on the log in page is also a great idea.
ANYTHING would nbe a great idea |

I would agree that it'd be nice if the town criers could spew the information, but the entire storyline *oof* I like the idea of some form of bulletin or "paper" ... to stay IC and get the storyline YAY
